Hey everyone. I just joined, tried searching and lurking but I wasn't able to find the answer. I have an M14x R2 with an i7-3610qm and an M15x with an i7-840q.

I am going to sell my M14x r2 but I love the speed of the processor. Is it possible for me to swap cpu's from the m14x to the m15x and vice versa?

Same question with the gpu's but I don't remember what is in my M15x so I will update once I get home.

    Thanks ahead of time :D

    swap cpu? no.
swap gpu? no. to my knowledge the m14x is discrete graphics and non-upgradeable.

Just to confirm, the m14x has a GPU that's embedded on the motherboard so you can't swap it.

Pretty sure the i7 920XM or 940XM can match the 3610QM or beat it in most cpu tasks by overclocking using the unlocked multiplier. Obviously power consumption and temperatures will be much higher but never been a problem for me.
For gaming a slight overclock works perfectly on my i7 940XM.
