    Hey,

Well I had this random question strike my head, kind of linked to svl7's post http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m15x/593926-unlocked-m15x-bios.html . Wanted to know (rather get updated on), is it possible to tweak up my system using the BIOS, unlocked or not? Heard svl7 and The Revelator was working on the unlocked BIOS, and what benefits it could give us. Any updates?

    Thanks in advance.

without the unlocked bios the only thing you can do is "unlink" the ram and cpu for ocing the ram

No, you can't do this, this doesn't work... try it and you'll see that it has no effect (unless CPU-Z reports the memory speeds wrong)
Also when you look at the description of "Select clock mode" it mentions the FSB... which doesn't even exist on our chipsets.

The RAM speed is directly linked to the BCLK, you can't unlink it as far as I know. In desktop systems you could probably change the ratio between RAM and BCLK, but in our systems I'm afraid there's no way way to do this. Would be great for overclocking.

I always wondered why it mentioned FSB on ships that don't have a FSB...

Ah I stand corrected. I just saw the option but never tried it.
