Hi guys, I was wondering if anybody could help me with this problem.
I'm thinking about upgrading my m15x's graphic card nvidia gtx 260m, so I called up my local dell service center and they gave me 2 options

    VGA card ( CRD,GRPHC,N11E,GS ) For Alienware Laptop M15x USD 497

    VGA card ( CRD,GRPHC,HD,5850,PRO ) For Alienware Laptop M15x USD 373

I was wondering which one is better?
Also I'm probably just gonna run these card stock because I need to have these cards last for a long time
PS I don't really know what card is n11e gs I think it's Nvidia 460m cause I asked about it when I called them but I'm probably wrong

    Thanks

Yeah I'm pretty sure it is a 460m GTX. They both are great. If you want performance go for the 5850, if you want cuda and physx, go with the 460m. If you want to pwn all, go for the 6970m

With the 5850 costing $125 less than the 460m, that's a no brainer.

    Thanks for the help guys
So on stock the 5850 is as powerful as the 460m and I should choose that and save the cash?
If the 460m is like 30% more powerful than the 5850 than I'll be willing to pony up the cash

I would like to get the 6970 but shipping to my region would probably cost like half of the card itself

Yeah true. The 5850 has great overclockability you can get it to much more than 30% quicker than the 460m. Go for the ATi.

Stock they are about on par; the 460m will be maybe 5% faster in some cases. Including overclocking, the 5850m is the superior card for gaming.

I'm in Korea and shipping from eurocom (Canada) is $69. Can't be much more than that.

My m15x is in repair cause it sometimes craps out while I'm browsing, turns out the fan cooling my gfx was dead but they won't replace my card cause they feel it's not broken yet even though this is my last month of warranty and when it dies I'll be out of warranty. So might as well upgrade the card.
Yeah from what I read around the forums the 5850 is more promising than the 460 (and cheaper of course)
Guess I need to learn how to overclock properly

Dunno why but I've always felt iffy about buying things from the internet.
How much is 6970 nowadays anyway?

    Anyway thanks for the help

Here's the ebay link for it.

Internet shopping isn't scary as long as you do your research on who you're buying from first.
