Hello, i just recieved a brand new Mx15. I formatted it because i have Windows 7 Ultimate and not the Home Premium that it had. When formating finished, my pc doesnt seem to recognize the Nvidia 460mGTX that it has. The Device manager shows "Standard VGA Graphics adapter" and this morning i was playing Crysis 1 full specs... I dont know , one of my friends has an M15X too and he formats it once every 6 or 7 months and everything seems to go fine with his laptop.
I've tried everything. Installed all the drivers that comes in the DVD from the factory. I Downloaded the drivers from the Nvidia Site and when trying to install it says "could not find compatible graphics hardware". I've also tried in Safe Mode and it doesnt work. I disasembled the Laptop using INAP's guide to remove the video card, and plug it inn aggain, and it didnt work... i called the Alienware Tech guys and after one hour or so, they said that i need to ship my pc back to USA for technical service. They say thats not posible that the Video card broke or something, its something in the MOBO or like that.... anyone has any clue on this?

    please help!

No no no no no NO! Don't panic. Here, I have a cure. Go here:
    v266.58 Windows 7/Vista 64bit | NVIDIA OEM Mobile - LaptopVideo2Go Forums
Download the driver, then the modded inf. You will get a nvaa.inf file. Run the driver, let it extract and then place the nvaa.inf file into the DisplayDriver folder in the 266.58 folder which the extraction has created. If you aren't overwriting anything, you're doing it wrong. Then run the setup. The installation will go ahead from there. You should read some of the other threads that highlight this issue. I can understand that you were panicking but next time the search function is a good place to start.
PS If you removed the GPU I assume you removed the heatsink and therefore you will need some new paste on it. Some threads here and INAP's guides show that. :)

If you had reformatted you will need to reinstall the video card drivers. Using drivers from NVIDIA's official site won't work at the moment without a modded inf file. I'm also using 266.58 drivers shown by widezu above and I can guarantee you it runs fine.

This is true, Kurupt. It's a minor setback. If you really want brightness settings back, I can tell you for a fact that the brightness is only native ti Windows. In my Ubuntu partition I can control the brightness.
