Please post in the marketplace. You can purchase a 9 cell battery from Dell on their website or on ebay.

If your thinking your gonna get more gaming with that battery you will be dissapointed. I just bought one from Stereo in the market place and its a great improvement if your surfing the web or using word or something but you may see an additional 30 minutes gaming, tops.

actually i don't think gaming on battery power is recommended. gaming should really only be done while plugged in. on battery power everything is throttle down.

To make this thread somewhat useful, How much of a gain can I see in a 9-cell compared to a 6-cell when using word to take notes?

Beware of some of those sites. I was looking at them as well and they have some bad reviews among them (not sure about the uk one though). Just google the company name and you'll see a bunch of complaints and rip-off alerts. There are a couple on e-bay as well, but those sellers have some mixed feedback as well, and they all ship from HK.

I get about an extra hour using word or internet explorer on battery saver performance.

More like 2.5. I only get about 1.5 hours on my 6 cell. No way you will get 3, I don't believe.

How do you only get 1.5? I get at least 2 hours+ with a 6-cell with AlienFX off and wifi off just taking notes.

I thought the battery killers were the CPU, GPU and monitor. IF it creates heat, its running too hard for battery.

Wifi is a huge power user. You are not using much gpu or cpu power if you are word processing or surfing the web on battery saver settings. In my experience, wifi is your biggest everyday power user just doing normal low power stuff.

So with wifi off, alienFX off, brightness turned down all the way, how much battery life can I expect with a 9-cell? Can I get a good 4 hours at least?
