    Hey guys,
Loyal alienware customer here and gaming laptop enthusiast. I am looking at buying the alienware 15 but I am worried if the build quality is plasticy and non premium ( i am very particular about my stuff). I would have loved it if they would have stuck with an all aluminum build, is the new alienware 15 aluminum ? (at least the outershells ?) and if not what laptop would u reccomend (also prefer macbook like glossy screens, or like the older alienware models)

It's not gonna be like your M17X, but it seems to be of good build quality. I read that they use some sort of carbon fiber/plastic composite for the casing so it should be as strong, if not stronger (if it is in fact carbon fiber) than aluminum. The new models also use matte panels now, no glossy panels or screen covers like the older models. The new models (13/15/17) are also using completely BGA central processors and GPUs, which means upgrading is a no no without replacing the entire motherboard. Like fatboyslimerr said, check out the AW 13/15/17 subforums for details. Us old timers here are quite content with our M15X :D.
