The best cpu would be the i7-940xm processor, as for the ram its the 1333mhz 8gb.

8 gig modules can get pretty expensive... 540 somthing for a single 8 gig 1600mhz ram card  why do u need 16 gigs? 8 gigs would prob suit u fine

You have 2 ram slots and the maximum u have can have combined is 8gb. The processors that will work with the M15x don't officially support anything over 1333mhz, but I believe somewhere that a few people were running 1600mhz and it wasn't dropping to the lower frequency (they had a screeenshot as well).

You're limited to 8GB of DDR3 1333 DRAM in the M15x. You can use 1600 memory, but it will be down-clocked to 1333.

You realize there is nearly nothing that can utilize even 8 gb of ram today, and unless you have an i3 or something, a CPU upgrade wont do anything for gaming performance?

only reason i would see somebody using 8 gigs is using VMware or another such program that does OS emulations
