Hey there! I'm a VERY poor college student at the moment, majoring in VTD - I've been hoping to upgrade my m15x for over a year now, but I haven't the slightest idea where to find one - I've checked local repair shops, ebay, and what seems like the entire internet - so far, I've found nothing. Where do you gents buy your cards? Do you get them used? Would anyone be willing to sell me an ati gpu :p ? Thanks for all of your help in advance!

you can find some good deals in NBR marketplace, but i think most come from ebay. you have to search for specific models to find anything, such as '460m' or '5870m'

Yes ebay, try clicking search description too and put 680M MXM or 7970M MXM.

Well he may have a GT240m at the moment in which case an HD5870 would be a huge upgrade.

NBR marketplace, Ebay or [email protected] any of those could provide you with ideal video cards and prices.

It depends what you call an update. If you are still rocking the gtx 260m then I can sell you my old gtx 460m for a very cheap price. Works well and can be overclocked to 800/1600 and 1500 memory using MSI afterburner.
It can play Crysis 3! Only on low though :)

Well there are better cards that are still very cheap, it's only when you hit the really modern ones that they spike.

Actually, I'm running the lowly hd5730 (the oc'd 5650 essentially) - It's been pretty good up until now, but it's time for an upgrade methinks.

Hey! Unfortunately the 6990m installation isn't going well and I may end up giving up as I don't have the time to make it work.
Meaning I'll probably keep my 460m but if I do get new card to work I'll send you a PM.

Sorry about getting your hopes up.
