    Hey,

Wanted to know which out of these is the best thermal paste, as these are the only ones that are offered at the place I am staying at momentarily.
    • Item image INTEL ORIGINAL TC-1996 THERMAL PASTE COMPOUND
    • Cooler Master HTK-002 Thermal Compound - Grease Paste
    • Stars Thermal CPU Cooling Paste- Best Quality
    • Cooler Master Thermal Fusion 400 Cooling Compound Paste
    • Cooler Master IceFusion Thermal Compound Paste
    • LS 6006 THERMAL PASTE FOR LGA775 HEAT-SINK FAN
    • Cooler Master Thermal Fusion 400 Compound Grease Paste

I copy-pasted whatever looked different using eBay. My bad if anything is repeated.

    Thanks in advance.

if I were you I'd go for the Cooler Master ones as they are branded. Otherwise I'd wait until you can get your hands on some IC diamond, MX-4 or AS5.

Pastes I would take from that list:
Cooler Master HTK-002 Thermal Compound - Grease Paste
Cooler Master Thermal Fusion 400 Cooling Compound Paste
Cooler Master IceFusion Thermal Compound Paste
Cooler Master Thermal Fusion 400 Compound Grease Paste

Pastes I would not take from that list (Reason = I have never heard of these brands):
Item image INTEL ORIGINAL TC-1996 THERMAL PASTE COMPOUND
Stars Thermal CPU Cooling Paste- Best Quality
LS 6006 THERMAL PASTE FOR LGA775 HEAT-SINK FAN

    My favourite paste:
    OCZ Freeze.

I like OCZ Freeze because it is cheap and gives very good results. I have this paste on the CPU in my desktop (my laptop is not repasted).

just got my MX-4 in today, testing it as i type
i can't get my card over 70*C in furmark at stock clocks with 1v
as soon as it hits 70, the fan kicks upto 4k rpm and cools it back down to 69 at which the fan slows down, and the cycle continues.

    i must admit i'm impressed with mx-4.

much thicker than shin-etsu or ocz-freeze but not as sticky or difficult to apply like as5.

ic7 diamond is great stuff as well, but i don't want to use it on exposed cores. if you've ever needed to clean it off you'll know why. i've had it sand down heat spreaders so much you can no longer read the laser engraving, imagine that on an exposed core like the laptop cpu's.
