Basically, I want the portability of a smaller alienware notebook but with a full hd display. the M17x is too big and the M14x only has 1600x900. I really wish the M15x would come back, do you think it will?

M15x might not make a comeback. How bout getting an M14x and do a FHD mod? I'm sure there is a way :D

The M17x is perfect size... I thought it would be bigger/heavier... But honestly it's ideal, more than perfect.

    :p

It is unlikely. Alienware are right behind Apple is making as much profit as possible by overcharging for rubbish machines.

They realised the M15x idea was too good in that consumers didn't need to upgrade to a new laptop after 2 years. Their solution to this was to bring out the M14x that features a soldered on midrange GPU and plasticky chassis.

It is a shame really. The only machine up to the same build quality (in fact better due to anodised aluminum) in the new range is the new M18x R2.

In terms of quality it goes M18x R2 then M17x R2 with 1200p beautiful screen and dual GPU's and then M15x. The M18x being the top dog in the range it comes as not a surprise that they reserve top quality to only 1 machine.

A new M15x which could easily fit to nearly current M14x proportions with a decent build quality is deemed to cost Alienware to much profit. I bought mine second hand and wouldn't ever buy one brand new nuff said.
