it should work, but you need to turn off the power adapter warning in the bios. another then is that psu is frigging huge, try finding the slim version of the psu. this psu is literally the size of a brick.

I can only grab what's on eBay because of where I currently live. I'll look again though.

Home, work, lan parties. I'll keep the 150w for trips and such, just scale back my 940XM a bit.

you don't have to scale anything back with 150 watt psu. the only benefit of the 240 psu is it stays cooler then the 150 psu when under full load. it still pulls around the same power as your 150.

You're saying the machine's limited to drawing 150w, or it will still be in the same range? I plan on running two drives, with a considerable overclock on the CPU/GPU. Now that the BIOS is hackable, if the 6970 can get in there, that'll need a little more power too.

yeah they will both pull around the same range. i got up to 185watts when benching on both psu. but the 240 is a good idea if thewiz does crack the bios and add the gpu support but also needs to remove the power limit in the bios too.

i really thought with the 240 psu i can oc higher and get a higher power draw, but it didn't.
