    Hey guys,

So i have the optical drive caddy installed into my laptop(you know the one to replace the optical drive with a harddrive). Anywho, I felt like my primary harddrive was starting to make weird noises (you know the clicking sound harddrives make before dying) so I thought why not just swoop the two.

First off, it booted with an error, saying something about a media cable being disconnected but then it booted off my external dvd player to re-install the OS onto the new "primary" hard drive so I didn't care give it too much mind. So it was taking a while so I walked away. When I returned the laptop was dead... like it wouldn't turn on, wasn't charging and the battery is dead. Now I didn't notice if it was charging when it last booted up so....it might be I some how messed up the power supply connection. However... I know i didn't mess it up enough reassembling that machine won't work once it has power.

So before I try to open it all back up and reassemble the machine. I thought I'd ask you guys for any advice or tips on how to fix this.

Like....is it possible to check if its just the Power Supply on the laptop's side? If so...how do I go about fixing that. Do I have to buy a whole new motherboard? Am I better off now just selling her as scrap?Etc....

TL: :DR:> M15x isn't lighting up on AC power, it isn't charging and it won't boot. Some help please?

For starters take out the battery then press the on button for 30 secs continuously. This is a good power drain and can reset certain issues. Also the CMOS battery itself is easily removable.
