It seems to me that Alienware has alot of technical problems + other problems.. I'm not saying it's bad - but I'm worried.

Is it because it's customizable? That's why it has alot of problems?

I will be having a warranty of course, but it would be useless outside of the US.. Right?

Dell - International Ownership Transfer Form

So, I talked to a Dell dude on chat, and he told me to fill this out.. If I do occur a problem- I don't have to ship it back to Alienware.. right? I can "transform" my warranty to where I live? We don't have an Alienware company here.. so do I go to stores that .. support Dell or something like that?

    Thanks

Every product has problems, its actually a small percentage of people who do get problems.... So far mines been fine, but then again I have my basic warranty as backup!

Read what I said above! However since it is customizable it could be possible that inexperienced owners attempt to open it and upgrade it themselves... Thus damaging it.

Nope. If you have your warranty you can ask for a fix, dell will send you a repair box and ship it away.... Not likely you'll get a tech to visit your house though (depending on region and warranty type).

Dell - International Ownership Transfer Form

Yes you'd have to ship it to their nearest facility. If you were to find a dell authorized store (not too likely) all they'd do is charge you a premium and ship it to dell. Just send it yourself.

Also I'd call them rather than talk to them on chat... The Chat "guys" usually know less than Dells janitor.

Np, hope I helped at least a little.

Other laptops have just as many problems. If you could check out the Asus gaming forum and the HP forum, then you'll see...

It's a shame that what should be a joyful purchase can sometimes be marred by doubt and concern :(

Don't worry about your laptop as long as you know what you are doing you will have no problems. Yes, there are some lemons, but Dell has a stable return policy so you should get satisfaction if it happens to you. Most issues I see on the boards are probably due to people installing dodgey drivers or messing around with stuff they know nothing about. My Alienware has been perfect from day 1 and I am still running the A05 BIOS and 197.x GPU drivers as I only upgrade if I foresee a real benefit.

We always hear about it when a product goes wrong/malfunctions. But when it works properly we hardly hear about it.
