Would it be worth it to buy a used m15x from Ebay and upgrade the GPU to a 7970m?

Seems like the laptop would cost around $550 and the GPU $350 for a total of $900. Or should I just get a new sager with a GTX 860m

That depends, what CPU and RAM/HDD/SSD does it have? I've seen some 7970M's go for $300 on ebay. I got my build below for under 1300 total. A similarly configured (Granted it's newer gen) AW M17x would sell for almost double it.

Yup, it will depend on the full config of the m15x. Can you give us more details about it?
