the power on button , the alien head doesnt light up immediately after the laptop is turned on... i have to wait until the screen goes to my desktop and system icon notifies me that alienfx has been on... then only i can see my alien head lights up...
hmm.. what is causing this to happen? any ideas?

    currently using BIOS A09...

Is your FX theme complex, as in due you have your keyboard lights morphing into different colors or something like that? Zones tend to 'go dark' from the time you boot up till the time you login if you do have a complex theme.

I have also had a M15x in the past. The problem happens randomly and sometimes you need to go into the Alienware Command Center to change color on the alienhead light before it turns on again.

I remember calling Dell about this. They said it cant be solved as it is a bios bug.

When my M15x died, I bought my current computer which is a M17x R2. This power button problem does not exist on the M17x, so that confirms Dells theory of it being a bios bug in the M15x bios.

The "bios bugs" I have taken notice of when I had a M15x are:

1: No light on startup on the alienhead (random)
2: Gpu fan lockup on startup (random)
3: Cpu fan does not rev up on startup. (random)

The "bios bugs" I have taken notice of in the M17x R2:

1: "Error message: Insert charger for maximum performance" (happens if you plug in the charger while the computer is starting up).

its just a fx glitch, its pretty normal especially if using a morphing/flashing theme.
normally a power drain or going into the alien fx and resetting the colors will help.

My alien head always lit up with my old mobo, but since my mobo was replaced it does the same thing... so I wonder if its a mobo issue.
