ati 11.6 drivers and hd5850

Since the dell driver hasnt been updated since sept 2010 - i am looking to update my driver to the latest ati 11.6.

install questions and thoughts:
- should i fully uninstall the current driver first or can it just be installed without removing first?

- is it necessary to use something such as driver sweeper? or is just removing from programs/features and deleting the hidden directories?

- i imagine i need to download the mobility download installer (first tab in downloads -1.11MB) which includes ccc as well as the drivers.

ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver

- The mobilty bundle does not include the hdmi audio driver - but I think it is included in the desktop bundle - can i extract the wdm directory and pt it in the mobility install directory (after it is downloaded and extracted) and use that?

I appreciate any input as I am not sure when dell will have an updated driver.

i recommend a proper driver installation, that includes rebooting into safe mode and running driver sweeper.

yup the 1mb download will download the correct installer for you.

afaik you can install the hdmi audio driver from the desktop bundle, i havn't done this myself however.
