    Hi guys!
I have been an avid user of the reliable m15x for 3 years. However, this morning it wouldn't turn on! Black screen and the scroll light was blinking + num and caps on continually. Has anyone encountered this problem? I tried reseating the ram, gpu and cpu but the problem persists. Oddly it also wont turn off by the main button even after holding it in (I have to disconnect the battery). I'm guessing this might might be hardware failure?:-(

I had an issue recently where I couldn't turn system off without removing the battery. Screen was blank and fans spooled up to maximum rpm.
I removed gpu and re-installed straight away but problem persisted.
I solved this by removing the gpu and storing it in a non-static bag overnight. Re-installed the next morning and everything worked fine and no problems since.
Can't say if you've having the same issue but its worth a try. What graphics card you have?

Also try removing the CMOS battery (black button like thing roughly in the middle of the laptop when you take bottom case off), and doing a power drain.
Power drain done by removing battery and AC then pressing power button down for 30 seconds.

    Hope this helps :)

Based on that it sounds like either a processor or system board failure! :(
