Why would you buy a 560m? I assume it's extremely cheap to even give it thought with all the awesome Kepler gpu's out. You'd be much better off even with a 670mx. The 560m is pretty much worthless for modern games. Completely out dated by now. The 675mx works fine for a m15x user on here. You'd be much better off with that. Literally twice as powerful and that's not even counting the huge overclock potential.

To answer your question though. If the bioses are compatible than it should work, yes however you might need to mod your heatsink for it to fit properly also you'll probably need modded drivers.

I found one for 100 bucks and upgrading from a 240m is a no brainer for 100 bucks but i just saw a 670m for 200 so i may just wait a month or so, Really its not so much about the 560m and more about can i buy a toshiba card for an alienware computer.

The 670m is better. It has 75% more cores but it's bottlenecked by the memory + it runs pretty hot. Believe me. I have a 570m which is the exact same card. You'd be much better off with one of these: New NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670MX 3GB GDDR5 for Clevo Upgrade Monkey Free Shipping | eBay
It runs very cool and only draws around 60Watts at stock. Flash it with an unlocked bios and it overclocks like crazy. Not joking. A guy on another forum got a 50% overclock on the core on stock voltage in his Asus g75. He upped it from 600mhz to 900mhz if my memory serves me correctly.

Either way you'll need to mod the heatsink for it to make proper contact with the gpu.You might wanna do some reading in this thread to see what works and what doesn't: http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m15x/694531-nvidia-gtx-670mx-alienware-m15x.html

Edit: I've looked after it a bit and you'll actually need a new heatsink. The 240m's heatsink is too short. It wouldn't extend over the vrm's which you definitely need to cool.

I appreciate all the searching you have done but this is a secondary computer i use to play around when work is slow, my main computer is my m18x that i use 95% of the time. I dont need to over clock and i dont need anything amazing in the m15x. Like i said it has a 240m in it right now so im just looking for something that will boost the performance without breaking the bank. Im not looking to put a 300$ card in it, no need for that i play on it 3 hrs a week max. The 560m may not be an amazing card but its running 100-150 bucks on ebay.

    Thanks for your input though.

Well that's a different story than. lol

You'll still need a new heatsink though.

Yeah i figured i would, i think im just gonna wait a few weeks. I get my tax return back soon and can pay off some medical bills from last year then i will have some free cashflow to buy an SSD and 560m for the m15 and an SSD and 16 gig ram upgrade for my m18x

I'd recommend you save a bit of cash and only get a hybrid driver for the m15x. Seagates 1tb hybrids are almost out.

im not sure if this has ever been tried before, but you may need to flash the v-bios to dell(if possible), physically it should fit, and no you won't need another heatsink as the m15x only has 1 type.
