I can't make out anything unusual... do you have some issues with the CPU?

Passmark gives an i7-940XM a rating of 4506 so on that one I'm about average. I really don't understand either test results. When I ran 3D Mark Vantage I only got about 9500 for the cpu which is way under what i should get.

can you rerun the vantage and make a throttle stop log of it. 9500 is really low, 940 should be around 12-14k stock.

just tick the log file box near the left bottom, the file is saved in your throttle stop folder.

Yeah your scores are really low bro, did you install a new CPU and didnt reinstall your new OS?

Check your BIOS and see if your mobo recognizes it your CPU

how come the log file so short. also did you touch any bios settings? reinstalling os is not necessary, i do recommend a power drain with the bios battery disconnected, that will reset your bios to stock again.

Check this out. I took Passmark cpu test and logged it to ThrottleStop. Am I only running on 3 cores? I did it again with only 3 cores showing.

Goto msconfig, goto the boot tab, advance options, number of processors 8.

rerun the tests and tell me what happends bro

    P.S.
Probably want to restart your computer after you made the changes then rerun the tests

Once you get it to discover all 4(8) cores, you may want to use Throttlestop to set max speed for all of them. 26-26-26-26 is possible, but can be close to the thermal margin if you stress all 8 threads for more than 30 sec or so - some people have reported 27's - but with, I think, more effective cooling than I have.

When you go to the device manager and take a look at the "Processor" section, do you see eight entries there?

Well I guess I did something wrong. I had the cmos out for 30 min. and it's still A09. Was I supposed to do the power drain after I took the cmos out or before?

the bios should remain the same, but all the settings would just go back to default.

now try checking devices manage like svl said. then run another bench.

Surest sign that Spring has arrived. Lots of pretty young Southern debutantes gettin' into and out of those Daisy Dukes.
