    Hi guys !

Yesterday I was changing my processor, and I also was renewing the thermal compound from my GPU, but I manage to drop my GPU, when I turned on my alienware, there was no image at all, i am pretty sure that everything else is ok since I could hear the sound from some program, but the image is dead.

My questions is, I am going to buy a new GPU, should I buy the same one? which was an ATI mobility 5850 or should I buy a different one ?

First of all try to reseat it. Do you still have warranty?

Btw, why did you take out the GPU for renewing the TIM?

I really dont know why I take it off, but anyways I already tried to reseat it, and is not working. I have Warranty, but I opened the laptop,so I think it just cancel my warranty isnt it right ?

No, they won't notice, and you're totally allowed to open the system. I recommend calling them.

    Dell sells them.
Why did you tell them you touched it? Would they be able to tell?

I'm impressed by your honest lol but I wouldn't tell them i touched it either.
Put the original CPU back in and keep quiet once the GPU is fixed put our new CPU back in xD.
If you do insist on being a better person than me get the card from dell as they sell the fastest version. DDR5.
