I don't know if anyone has ever noticed their left hand ( while playing games ) gets pretty hot from the wifi card being directly below your left wrist there. Is there a way to help disperse the heat?

    Thanks!

See if you can reduce the transmit power in device manger, I have mine set to lowest as i do not need the range, the wifi card should run cooler by doing this.

I'm going to bite here since I do game using my laptops keyboard with a external mouse. On the m15x the wifi card is located close to under the 9 0 i and o keys. See: Alienware M15x Teardown 3 of 3 **READ SAFETY PRECAUTIONS PRI - YouTube

I get some heat on my left wasd keys but much less than other laptops I've had including a G73. You should look at clearing out dust from your vents and fans. The top left side would have your CPU under it btw

My bad, you are right Daverish, guess I got turned around from my latest upgrade lol. The area I am having heat issues ( at least heat on my wrist ) is where the WPAN card would be.

if you use the bluetooth device alot it will get hot, if your not using it, disable it and check to see if it gets cooler. if it does then the bluetooth device was sending/recieving traffic causing it to get hot, if it doesn't then there is another underlining problem causing it to get hot.

when a device such as a wifi card or bluetooth device sends and recieves data it gets warmer due to the traffic heating the device up, if you use that device constantly for sending/recieving data is will get hot.

Unless I am in some way I don't know, I am not using the BT card at all. I'll disable later today when i get home and go from there.
