    Hi everyone,

Now since i got the m15x up and running i got little problemo on playing watchdogs, in the bios turbo boost is enabled.

From HWinfo64, it shows CPU turbo as (locked), also when i went to.. can you run it, it mentioned it cant run due to 2.67mhz using the detection.msi? Is this correct? Shoudnt this go upto 3.33mhz as i got the i7 620m cpu

Do i have to unlock it or any way to overclock this? I downloaded throttlestop, but have no idea where to start in it, if there is a procedure to fix this let me know guys

    thanks

At first check at what frequency it works. Download TurboBoost Monitor v1 DepositFiles
Then launch something like archieving or benchmark or anything else.

Also Throttlestop should tell you max frequency.

You won't be able to overclock the 620QM without speeding up other parts of the system. That can cause hardware damage if you don't know what you are doing or OC too much. OC'ing the XM series (Extreme Edition) chips are a lot easier because they are unlocked. That chip may have a max of 3.3Ghz, but that is for a single core use. Two cores on turbo is 3.06Ghz. That is even if the Turbo Boost is even kicking in.

As James said, you should run a benchmark and check speeds with TS to see if Turbo speeds are even kicking in first. You should verify if you are being throttled or not.

If you have a question about ThrottleStop, why not post a picture of how you have it setup. It has a built in benchmark so you can easily put a load on the CPU and make sure your CPU is using Turbo Boost. You can start by running 1 thread of the TS Bench benchmark. Keep an eye on the multiplier reported during this test. You can also run 4 threads of this test and see what multiplier is reported then. When setup correctly, ThrottleStop can be used to maximize the performance of these CPUs. It is difficult to recommend specific settings without knowing what problem you are trying to solve.

Thanks for the replies, it seems its being used, there is this problem in my new gpu fan it runs alright but not on full, its stable on 40c but when it goes to 80-90c the fan is not as it should be, as it was with my previous 260m card, this one us 660m 2gb, i will add pics here if there is a method to boost the fan speed.. uploadfromtaptalk1408966330605.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1408966345542.jpg

You can use HWinfo to change the fan speeds manually.
