I have been searching the internet and these forumns for 2 hrs now. I have the card coming next week. I have seen bits and pieces about what needs to be done. Its confusingthough. Theirs also threads that seem liking im heading in the right direction and they forward me to dead links. Is their one guide or tutorial on all the steps and how to accomplish these steps? I read I need to mod inf file and flash vbios. Im looking for a step by step guide does it exist?
    Thanks

There isn't exactly one guide that covers everything but it's pretty simple. At first it took me like a few hours to disassemble my laptop as I was upgrading everything in my laptop at once and re-pasting everything. But then after the first time through, It took me like 10 minutes to get into the CPU/GPU as I had to re-paste as I did a bad job the first time round. You have to flash the GTX 680m with a custom VBIOS from SLV7's techinferno website as it will allow for full stock clocks and no throttling. After that you have to modify the INF file which is pretty straight forward so you can use the latest NVIDIA driver. Here are the steps in order for what you have to do:

    M15x CPU/GPU Removal = Alienware M15X CPU & GPU removal - YouTube

VBIOS Mod = NVIDIA Kepler VBIOS mods - Overclocking Editions, modified clocks, voltage tweaks

VBIOS Tutorial = [GUIDE] NVIDIA VBIOS flashing

INF Mod = Nvidia INF driver modding (Guide) - Guru3D.com Forums

It explains everything required in order to install your 680m, that's what I used as a guide.

No problem, if you get stuck with anything inbox me. Also remember to have some good thermal paste and thermal pads too and a 240W PSU so things don't get too hot!

After you installed the video card you're still able to boot into windows fine yes, even without having the VBIOS or modified INF.

just tried it computer won even turn on.

got it working was able to get driver 33140 with inf file I found online.I cant get any newer drivers to install.Anyone have drivers with inf file already there? I also noticed folder options changed in nwer drivers and don't see nv_dispi any idea wher modded inf goes ?

ok finally got inf file done. Their right its confusing the 1st time but real simple once done. One more question. How do I check if vbios was successfully flashed?

Just check with gpu-z if you get stock clocks or if the card is highly underclocked.
