    i7 720qm,4gb ram and 7970
    I use Arctic silver 5 but olldest termalpads.
    I bought a new termalpads: 6wmk 1.5mm but they were very thick and it got worse!
    How thick do you use?

    I've read on this forum and elsewhere (via a google search) that 1.0mm is best. That is what I have recently bought and am about to replace old dell ones probably tomorrow.
    If you got phobya or whatever its called they should be compressible?

    Try grinding down your x-bracket with a metal file. Its really easy.

    1mm is the best route to go on that. I really hope you can get better temps. Are you using a Cooling Pad?
