    hey all,

when i use 5.1 system directly with the laptop jacks, and play music, only get sound from front speakers. however, when i do an individual speaker test with IDT control panel, they all respond. even when playing movie with 5.1 sound through VLC i dont have center or rear sound. i do realise music is only 2 channel, but i think back in the day when i got the laptop, it filled all speakers nicely.

in IDT panel, jacks are configured this way: rear, front, C/sub

    any help?

    thanks

Mine works the way it should. Which driver version do you have?

IDT itself says go to your provider, whether its dell, asus or other. so basically dell site is the only place i can get it from.

Have you tried uninstalling them and letting Windows take over? Or simply reinstalling the driver from DELL.com?

default windows works fine but sounds like crap, even with enchancements.

just tried re installing, same thing. when i tried to test each speaker, it does make a sound. but once i try to play 2 channel song, only front works. also when trying to play 5.1 movie, only front works. no center dialogue or rear sound
