Same thing happened to me when I installed my 460M. Windows didn't recognize it and when I installed the driver from the Nvidia site it also couldn't recognize it.

I had to go to the Dell site and use their driver. If you go to support then drivers / downloads and put in the M15x model a driver for the 460M will be available.

    Good luck.

You have to force the driver to install.
Go to device manager > right click on your "standard vga adapter" > update driver > "browse my computer for driver software" > "let me pick..." > "have disk" > "browse" and select the inf file from the driver you have downloaded. Ignore any warnings/errors.

yeah, had to do the same thing with my laptopvideo2go driver, you have to force it to install as Moral says, but it shows up fine afterwards.

Well there are many driver versions, some for xp, some for vista/win7 (32bit/64bit). You do have to download the one for your OS.

Just use the official drivers but put the modded inf from laptopvideo2go in the display.driver folder. Then it will work.
