hey guys i was just wondering if there is a way to manually cap the fps to a certain number(30fps) instead of 60. i think that it would be nice to have something like this because when playing games i don't want to fps to be jumping all over the place like from 34 to 55 in a second. to keep a stable 30 fps would be nice don't you think?

DXtory is one app that will do it, not free. Im not sure but i think playclaw allows for it too.

Yeah turn on vsync in the graphics options so if your framerate doesn't quite hit 60 it will automatically lock it to 30 instead.

Huh? vSync only prevents screen tearing

Screen tearings are due to the fact CG and screen are out of sync (to symplify a bit).

Usually, LCD screens have a refresh rate of 60 Hz thus enabling vsync will limit the frame rate to 60 fps.

But it's not going to lock it to 30.

    tbh i don't notice a difference.
only times i do notice is if vsync is off (tearing) and if the fps dips under 30.
if a game fluctuates between 30 and 60fps i consider that to be optimal. no tearing and no stutters.

Of course and I didn't say that. I just pointed out the fact Vsync is not here to remove screen tearings. Screen tearings removing is just one the effects of vsyns option.
