    Hey guys i just got my m15x about a week ago and loving it. the only downside or difference from what i previously had (sony vaio z) is the size and weight and glossy as hell screen. well because of these factors im thinking of making it a desktop replacement.

    what i wanted to know was if anyone has a multi-monitor setup using this laptop. i want to use a vesa screen setup with 2 extra screen (plus laptop screen of course) is there a way to use the vga and display port to get 2 or more screens. i want to do a setup kinda like this.

    Amazon.com: Dual Freestanding Monitor Stand holds monitors up to 24" widescreen. Uses standard Vesa mount.: Office Products

    if anyone knows anything that would be great or if they could post pics of their setup even better =)

    edit* runnin the 460m with 6gbram and the 720qm
    thanks for the noobie help.

    Hmmm... Not sure if 460m can do that. I know that AMD HD 5850 supports 3 screens but I've never tried it.

    do they make like a display port splitter so it can split an external monitor? or something like that? or has anyone tried using the display port to connect to one monitor and the vga to display to a second monitor?

    i wouldnt mind a setup like this

    E = external monitor
    L = laptop monitor

    ELE setup

    So far I've only done 1 external monitor via the display port to HDMI adapter and the laptop screen.
    check out this video for HP Envy with 5850. 1:30 into the video

    Like theautumnsbest, I also have a dual monitor setup
    1 DP->HDMI adapter and my M15x 900p screen
    I'll have to try the VGA + HDMI setup though when I get home.
    I'll let you know how it works!
