2nd i know i have a grace period to return it if I decide I want the m17x is the m17x worth the extra money? Ill just be using this for the latest games and school.

finally is there any recommendations to change my specs to something else?

    thanks for your time!

The 5850 is an excellent card and will be able to play most games with high or highest settings. Exceptions wold be GTA IV, Crysis, Metro 2033 etc.

not much, they are very similar, you can just flash a 5850 to a stock 5870 clocks.

5850 vs. 5870 difference is negligible. Get a 480M if you wanna see a difference. :p (Just kidding, you probably don't want/need it unless your a richie.)

Or get a m17x stock except 5870 CFs.

Just thought id bump this because his thread is similar to mine and i'm interested in the same information. Im purchasing an M15x soon and want to make sure i get the best composition of components.

From what i have read, crossfire>single graphics card.
    You guessed right
