Found a very reasonably priced M15 in the outlet which I ordered yesterday and should be taking delivery of on Tuesday.

    Arrest Me Red Chassis
    i7 740
    Radeon 5850
    4 gigs ram
    900p screen
    Blu-ray reader
    320 gig hdd
Win 7 Pro (I also have a copy of Ultimate if I choose)
My specs list by item number also possibly list a TV tuner as well.

What would be included in the Accessory Kit? I don't have the model numbers for each part. I was a and didn't copy/paste that page.

I'll have to look into what all can be done with these computers. Only other lappy I've owned is a Toshiba that I sold last year after ~3 years of reliable service. I've seen the video card upgrades but didn't realize I could do CPU as well. I just want to see how it performs next to my ancient Athlon 64 3800+ with 8800 GT. :p

If you bought from the outlet, you will recieave a very plain brown box with a simple Windows 7 disc with no drivers, manual, and power cord and charger and of course the laptop.

heard about the plain box, was under the impression the software discs included were the restore discs. also read that the manual included was a paper manual not the nice leather bound book.

Your correct. Plain manual, nothing special with a plain brown box that is shipped with any Dell. You get one windows 7 disc that has none of the drivers installed or Alienware software. Also, when you recieave the laptop you will find services/software that were not installed such as Dell Backup and the Quickcam. Mine also came with a plain charger that had no indication of Dell on it. However, I'm told that all the alienware chargers are plain.

Cap would have been nice since I don't have a non-beanie hat. Mousepad is no biggie, I've got an Everglide Garguanta from a long time ago when the Razer Boomslang 1000 was new.

Ahh yes, the alien's charger is plain, pure black like the universe... and of course, with a white made-in-china stick on the back ~_~

Took delivery at 1:30pm yesterday but didn't get to play with my M15 till about 9:30 last night I was working. So far I gotta say very nice piece of hardware. My 'scratch and dent' is slightly scrached on the bottom of the frame and a couple very small scratches on the lid. Damn near unnoticable as I missed them during my first checking out of the machine. Caught them on my second in different light.

I found it kinda odd that a few things seem to be missing drivers, I'm guessing this is the norm for restored machines? I installed the bluetooth drivers and it now shows in device manager. I noticed however my TV tuner card wasn't in the box but it is listed under original config. I'm debating if I want to contact Alienware and make an issue of getting the tuner since I have a perfectly good TV or if I ought to try to 'trade' that for a display port to HDMI cable which would actually be useful to me.

Build quality on this beast is pretty top notch. My lovely bride asked me how much it weighed (she's got an Inspiron 14) and was shocked that this weighs over 9 lbs compared to her ~5 lb portable. :p She likes my screen more, thinks the lights are cool but needs the portable of hers.

Also trying to track down my account number for My Hive, is this even worth concerning myself over or would I be better served taking advantage of the community here for questions, comments, and issues?

Now that I've got a bunch of daily use stuff on here, time to try games. :D

Forgot to ask where do I find the webcam driver for this machine? I've had no luck on dell's support site.

You've found the place. The Hive is/was for the old pre-Dell Alienwares.

The webcam driver is built in,i.e., a Windows driver. There is no separate driver required.

Sorry, I know nothing about TV tuner cards.

hm..if the driver is built in why isn't there a webcam in my device manager and when I start the Webcam central program it detects nothing?

Ought to be right there. If not, I'd guess disconnected or broken. Outlet M15x's seem to have a history of webcam problems. I have no idea why.

the fastcap line is there, webcam isn't. makes me wonder if like the bluetooth for whatever reason there IS some kind of driver that I need to get. also makes me wonder how hard it is to reconnect.

It uses a Microsoft Windows driver. Call Dell.
