    Hello all

i have a question for you
i have received my new m15x with core i7 620m

i have reinstalled windows 7 because i dont like the big partition they do on the hdd

can someone confirm me that the ram frequency is @1066 with this processor ?

because i have 2 dram @1333 and CPU-Z say that they still work @1066. Is it normal ?

Thanks for your feedback (and my poor english)

a computer is only as fast as its slowest component. I am pretty sure the 620 only supports up to 1066. You can double check on the Intel Site though. I chose the i7-720qm because I wanted to take full advantage of my 1333 ram. It is supposed to support that speed.

You can always buy an upgrade on ebay and I have some computer parts stores offering new i7-720qm processors for 189.00, not a bad deal...

i7 720 and up can run at 1333. anything below that runs at 1066. you prolly won't see a big difference in real world uses between the two speeds. unless benching is your thing, i wouldn't sweat it.

    Hello all

Gr8gorilla, i prefer my good dual core than a lower quad core like i7-720qm, because actually for a gaming computer, it's better with a dual core.

    thanks all for your answers.
I know now that it is normal I'm with memory @1066
