    when i load steam theres always a 5 second lag and i get the feeling my laptops sluggish...

    is there any checks i can do to make sure my laptop is running tip top?

    Task manager. Seriously. Take a look at what's using CPU time: If there's anything that shouldn't be, you'll know.
