Fresh Windows 7 build, what is the best way to turn the lights off when the computer goes into sleep and also turn the fans off.

    turn off the laptop?
or do you need to let it download and stuff?

in that case what i normally do is use the command centre and enable an option in the right click menu which enables all lights to turn off during dark mode. then hit the stealth button.

i also ensure that my laptop will not turn off when my lid is closed through windows power management profiles.

I have following in the right click menu
    Alienware ALienFX Editor
    Disable Alienware AlienFX events
    Go Dark
Keep Status Zones on During go Dark
    Enable 3rd Party AlienFX Access
    Dim lighting Zones
Dim Lighting zones in Battery Mode Only.

In the control Center I have under Advance event
    System State
    Default
    System Events
    New Email
    Applications

I would have expected sleep or dark to be in Control Centre under Default.

untick the "keep status zones on during go dark"
then when you turn off the alienfx, all of the lights will turn off
yeah the location of this option is somewhat silly.

Everything should turn off when the computer goes into sleep mode.

    that's what i thought
perhaps the power button might be flashing on and off though.
and maybe the alienhead on the back of the screen.

although if you turn off the lights prior to putting the laptop into sleep, they should all be off with the exception of the power button i believe.

Thanks guys, this is a new motherboard and I thought the lights should just turn off as well, I thought it might be a new BOIS setting or version of CC.
