    Run Windows Update. That usually fixes the problem.

    When I run crystal disk, it says I have TRIM. Do I have to run it manually? I only started noticing the low score after upgrading the bios. Now it seems my SSD is running slow.

    Call Dell and ask for a new SSD. Tell them your write speeds have gone down dramatically or w/e, and they'll ship you a new SSD. My new SSD is coming in on Monday. After Bios A07, my SSD lost ALOT of performance >_>;

    OK, now, This is really strange, I've restored the laptop to factory defaults and now, the laptop has given me the ratings as follows:

    CPU = 7.2
    RAM = 7.4
    Graphics = 7.1
    Gaming Graphics = 7.1
    HDD = 5.9

    All I can say is what the? Should I go ahead and install the new beta drivers or will that go and break something?

    If it ain't broke . . . . But a lot of people have installed the beta drivers without breaking WEI, so it should work.

    lol, yeah, good point mate...but I'll give it a go...see what happens...I'd rather not be using the factory drivers, especially since I'm going to be gaming on it.

    the wei score isn't worth all this hassle. use crystal disk mark or something similar. if scores look good then don't worry about the wei.

    btw i have the same problem too. wei is reporting 5.9 for my ssd.

    The only reason I'm messing around on it is because compared to all others who have a 5850 here, my scores were comparatively low, but now, since restoring to factory default image, it's actually up to 7.1-7.2 now.

    ok i feel ya. but don't relay on the wei score for much, its really just for show. benchmarks like vantage will gave you a better feel of how your system is truly performing.

    Yeah, I know that dude...but if you look at the previous page on this thread, I got a score of like 3300ish in Vantage...lol...it was pretty disgusting haha and watching the benchmark lag like crazy didn't make me feel any better. In any event, I'm re-running Vantage now to see what kind of score it pumps out for me.

    Ok, so, a new run on vantage has completed and I now got a score of P8104 3DMarks

    CPU Score = 12511
    Graphics Score = 7252

    Is that more normal?

    Processor - 7.1
    RAM - 7.4
    Gaming Graphics 7.2
    Desktop Graphics 7.2
    Harddrive - 7.4 (Before Dell replaced my SSD, it used to score 5.9/6.9, just goes to show, it was so bad that I had write speeds at 13 megs a second, and mind you i've owned my laptop for what, 3 weeks?)

    Now considering I've paid around 2.3k for this machine, That's a pretty measly score.

    Ok, I'm back....again, I have a weird problem. I had to install the DirectX 9 on Windows 7 for some games I have but since I've done that, the WEI test fails now with the following:

    "The Windows Experience Index for your system could not be computed.

    Could not measure storage performance.
    Unable to start the kernel logger. The logger is in use by another application. Please stop the kernel logger and try again."

    I was receiving this message previously but couldn't pin down what was causing it, but it looks as though installing DX9 has caused this. The GPU still allows me to use the Aero interface & I still get normal gaming performance, but I just found this weird. Anyone else had this problem?

    Try installing the most recent DX9/DX10 update from Microsoft @ Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime. The DX9 versions included with some games are outdated and can cause problems. Worse case, you get DirectX current.

    Sorry for bumping a 9 day old thread, but I just found this forum, and I wanted to share my "scores" for my m15x. It's brand new. All it has installed on it is SC2. Thats it. Here it is...

    Processor : 3.9
    Memoery(RAM): 4.2
    Graphics: 6.7
    Gaming graphic: 6.7
    Hard Disk : 5.9

    Seriously, what's going on? This is a brand new laptop (~2 months, I even had to format it was SO bad when I got it!).

    My specs..

    IntelCore i5 CPU M 540 @2.53GHz
    4GB dual channel ddr3 @ 1066 MHz 2 X 2048 mb
    64 bit windows 7.
    1gb ATI radeon mobility HD 5850

    I don't understand.. I sunk 1900$ into this, how can it be so bad? I can barely even play sc2 in a 1v1 game... Forget team play!

    Help... ><

    send it back or upgrade your processor look at everyone with scores posted and i7 the difference is 7.0 versus 3.9 on yours. Also the video card flash it to higher clocks and adjust the voltage. Search around for a tutorial on the board i might come back and post it if i can find it.

    if you do not want to send it back buy a processor of ebay or the marketplace and swap it out. Not trying to be an as* but if you spend 2k why did you not put down an extra $100 for a better processor unless you were planning on upgrading anyways. Post up your complete specs what cost that much did you get an extended warranty or are you in Canada or overseas

    Also WEI is a JUNK BENCHMARK but were you running in stealth mode or power saver by any chance???

    Not sure why your ram is so low for 4gb. Do the power drain trick, make sure you are on PERFORMANCE and stealth mode is disabled and rerun it.

    Also download 3dmarks 06 and run that

    your cpu and ram score's are way too low.
    cpu should be more like a high 6 with the ram being a high 5

    hdd and video card seem about right.

    have you tried toggling stealth?
    is the AC adapter plugged in? (without specific software you cannot achieve the same performance on battery as you do on AC power)

    do a power drain by shutting down, removing the battery and ac, hold the power button for around 10 - 20 sec, insert and boot
