OK so I'm done with this 940XM,it is so erratic;sometimes I get good scores using a couple of benchmarking programs and it seems when the chip heats up a little the performance drops way off. Before I had this Alienware 15x, I had an MSI 060US with a 920XM,5870 gpu and I was looking at my scores with 3DMark Vantage and I used to get 13-14,000 for the cpu score. With this 940 I've never hit 10,000. Anyway my friend who sold me this ES sent me a 920 for$325 and if I get better performance with it I'm sending him back the 940 for a $450 full refund. In case your're wondering about the heat issue I did apply the Arctic Silver 5 according to their directions. I even tinted the heatsink as they suggested. Actually I haven't had this 940 in the full 200 hrs. breakin period. So later on today I'll try my luck with the 920. :D

Sure sounds like the 940xm was defective. Good luck with the 920xm.

I agree with Rev. My 940XM works like a charm. ;)
