Well the first thing I tried was browsing through newegg, only to find that their stock is 90% retail, finding an OEM product of what you want is very difficult..
was hoping for a different supplier.
I have been doing some ebaying the last hour, and most of theirs are used (I hate used electronics, never a good idea)
-
What are you specifically looking for? Lot's of good "googlers" here. Also take a look at the NBR tech deals section.
-
The bios would never work from the Alienware machine to the Toshiba. The bios's are tailored for specific machines and its not something you would even want to attempt to try .
-
Nothing specifically
Just ways to upgrade the M17x through OEM items that would save costs. CPU/GPU/SSD/RAM/etc. I'm sure with this information I (or someone else, if they choose) would be able to create a guide to buying/upgrading the new m17x in the most cost efficient way.
Not to mention having a future site that specializes in OEM distribution would be great as well. (as I never really need anything that comes with the retail package of a purchase, just the hardware) -
GPU's can be found @ ebay , rjtech and other resellers and NBR
-
Plenty of people here willing to write guides.
-
As I understand it the W90 OC utility works basically like SetFSB where it increases the memory bus speeds as well. I'd prefer it if the AW OC utility simulated a multiplier bump like in BIOS overclocking (since it's only available on Extreme CPUs) so that the rest of the system speed runs standard.
-
I'll survive on one 320Gb (or one 500Gb depending on upgrade cost) until I see if SSD prices are really going to drop around Christmas.
-
For those of you planning to buy the laptop as soon as they come out
I found a free shipping code:
GSFREESHIP
lasts until June 21st I believe
-
I'm still hoping this will be available to purchase through Dell's site. They've had free shipping deals for a while. Plus I want to use my Dell EPP and DPA account.
-
I'm unfamiliar with DPA?
-
I believe DPA is Dell Preferred Account
more here:
http://www.dell.com/content/topics/...&cs=13&l=en&s=dhs&~lt=popup&~tab=4&~ck=anavml -
yeah, Dell's way of getting you to spend more money, lol! Actually I'm hoping for more % off if using a DPA account.
-
the Dell equivalent to AW's Titanium program, it would seem.
-
Buy now pay later (or never) it's the American way.
-
You're a legend. Someone give this man a cookie.
-
I....LOVE....cookies
-
or just +rep him.
-

yea i didn't figure we could stack it ....5% of 2000 would be 100$ so i guess that covers shipping and some of the tax

-
Not good enough?
-
I tried it a few weeks ago and it didn't work.
-
t9400 2 gigs of ram 160 gig HD
i need to up the ram to sell it ..... every one wants 4 now-a-days because they can't monitor their memory usage ...
i could buy 4 gigs and another 160 and raid them . all would be under a hundred that would help it sell what you think? -
i wonder if you'd get more money if you'd part the system out... sell the chassis as a total barebone (no CPU, RAM, or HDD), then sell the CPU and RAM by themselves (i assume you'll be keeping the HDD).
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
well for gaming all you need is 3gb of ram. more ram uses more power
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/memory-module-upgrade,2264.html
i think you need to state that. -
i was thinking about it
see sell the bare bones 1100 then
the CPU 200 ?
ram for like 30
hd for 40
thats like 1300 bucks....i was hopeing at least 1500 -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
or you can drop you price to 1,300-1,400 maxed and you'll be golden.
don't forget there are 3 m17's for sell right now i had to drop or i wouldn't sell either -
Plus they are getting more popular on ebay.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
really i didn't notice.
-
bahhhhhh
i can sell every thing in there with no CPU 1300 ? green lid and black lid . Leave RAM and HD in there. Sell my t9400 for 250 and be good -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
good luck selling your t9400 for that much. i sold mines for 160 and it was oem. and halogod sold his for 150. it's going to be hard with the es cpu's out.
-
ill go to EBAY !!! whooo lol
future is not looking good
-
I bought a T9400 for $180 from here a couple weeks ago.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
you should hurry up then. i wanted 2,200 for mines. if i did it a month ot two ago i think i would of gotten it for that.
-
Most of the ones on eBay are way overpriced. Yours should go quicker.
-
yep prices on these is dropping fast..
-
It's doesn't help when the whitebook w/crossfire on newegg sells for $1199.
-
well m17 has it beat a couple ways
Matte finish
stronger lid
special keyboard
alien head
i do think those are worth the extra 150 for the bare bones -
yeah don't forget the fact that it's brand new and comes with a warranty, plus the lid is replaceable. The keyboard is different?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
yeah. there have lines around the keys.
-
no the whole keyboard is different
how the keys are ETC
lid may be replaceable but its hard as CRAP to find a brand new one
