That...makes me....sad :C

I prefer the styling of the new Asus Lamborghini vx-5
http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/hands-on-asus-lamborghini-vx5-laptop/ -
Now that you mention it, a fingerprint reader would be kind of neat. It would feel like you're getting scanned for clearance lol.
-
what's the budget?
-
^^^ always vigilant
yes that is important if you want us to make the call -
! I love the black, its a great color for a laptop.
-
Is it wrong to be sexually attracted to this computer?
-
Ya, you might want to see a shrink... Or save the money and get that computer
-
You don't lose the warranty if you swap out the CPU without breaking anything correct?
Looking at the CPU options I don't think I'd be satisfied with a T9600 and if they don't offer anything better I may get the cheapest CPU and swap it out myself. -
If it's a prototype I can only hope the slim the bottom of the computer out more, namely the vents. Little too big at the bottom and push the trackpad a little to the right, other then no complaints about the design. I can't wait till Chaz gets some nice pics up from E3, I really want to see more "Silver" chassis pictures, it looks beastly from the first few pics up.
EDIT for Phanagle: No, they told me it wouldn't void my warranty, I'm not sure how DELL will handle that situation now though... -
-
-
not 100% sure im buying it now, because of its exterior appeal :/ -
-
Yeah black is cool no doubt, after having a black M17 for awhile it does smudge up a bit, even with the matte. Having silver/aluminum might be a cool change up and be prone to less marks considering I lugged my m17 around college all day and put my dirty fingerprints all over it constantly lol...
-
I was wondering if this notebook is upgradable ?
meaning i can purchase a faster cpu and upgrade it at a later date ...
-
well, no not ALL, Im very stingy on the inside components, but the outside is equally as important, and so far, its not very satisfying.. I dont like the keyboard placement, the gap between the sides of the monitor and the base, the lack of a thumbprint scanner, and the rubber/leather patch on the backend. All my opinion..but it makes me depressed xD -
you can upgrade
CPU
RAM
HD
GPU
Screen
you can buy the parts and do it or Ship it back to AW to let them do it for you -
TBH I'm impressed with the decision to switch polycarbonate to aluminum lol (what IMHO is the most important improvement in this M17X refresh).
It's the first alienware design since m7700 what i liked
Style + Good build quality + GTX280M = win
I'm just worried about DPC latency in this bad boy as it is made by quanta (dell's have a very long history of high DPC latency, spikes, etc)... Well I'm gonna take the risk lol. -
So is the E2E screen RGBLED? I will will buy this instead of the core i7 Sager if this has a RGB LED or LED screen
.
-
the core i7 sager is not built for gaming FYI
it just has that option
you should look into the Clevo m98NU -
no indication yet - of course, e2e without a fittingly high-end screen wouldn't make much sense
-
-
no
as long as you put in the orginal part before you send it to Alienware your warranty is not voided -
. I'm gonna get into a M17X and gaming isn't my first priority
.
If anyone is going to just game should get a XB0X 360 not a notebook -
haha
-
Man, IMO they hit this one out of the park!
I'm a huge fan of the black matte finish cause I'm an anti-smudge fanatic and the styling looks great.
I have the M9750 and the M17 and have grown fond of the anti smudge finish.
I'm curious to see if they upgraded the card reader to accept SDHC cards though. -
Personally I think the I7 Clevo makes an excellent gaming choice of a notebook ...
especially with the upgradable version 3 gpu socket ... -
they are not going to fix your qx9300 because you burned it up
that would be dumb on their part... -
-
not a single offer on my laptop yet
-
I think we're about to see this new rig spank down every other gaming laptop on the market in both benchmarks and in FPS during gaming.
-
hence "allpowerful"??
-
-
-
I guess we'll see whizzo, somehow we all manage to find a way to overclock in spite of the lack of A.W. support for OC'ing.
Somebody better jump on it though cause E-wrecked sure will! -
while i hope they offer the two basic colors of balck and silver, the pics offered and posted seem to indicate a lighting difference, thus making one apear silver in color. hope i am wrong though, because if they offered the unit in a brushed aluminum look, i am in.
i will get this rig to replace my desktop and use it as one...
of course, if we all remember the last big hype they put out turned out to be a dud series...(in my opinion) and led to nothing of real interest. hehe.
cpl more days and we shall see. -
Meh...E can have the records. It's what he enjoys doing and what he pays for.
I'll answer questions, overclock a bit, run benchmarks, and help with any tech issues that need solving but I'm spending my $3K+ to game not to be a "narcissistic benchrunner."
When I want to add synthetic inches to my epeen I PK. ;þ -
wow that is nice I like the alienhead (the other stuff is meh) and I like for once the ripley non skullcap look a bit more than I used to. Nice specs to I wish I'd waited to some extent-more of an nvidia than ati guy so this would have been nice and the base configuration is similar to my m17 which set me back about the same amount. Oh well I'll have my m15x and m17 for at least 2-3 more years each and we'll see where we go from there might upgrade these or get whats new then.
I'm still kind of irritated we aren't getting colored cases like we used to...hopefully in teh future -
Krylon my friend.
-
...would....would it be possible to add my own thumbprint scanner?
...maybe a future guide mr. moo?
>.>
<.<
I really want one -.- -
what is this love for thumbprint scanners?
you can of course add one already...aftermarket units that can connect via usb.
i highly doubt of you being able to add one without a serious case mod. (cutting, repainting, etc...) -
ehhh...I really rather not get a usb one
kinda...tacky -
Oh, quick answer on everyone..
...Orion Backpack, or armored briefcase? -
armored briefcase for coolness.
-
-
BTW, the briefcase is like 7 lb.... so in total its a 20 li package...
The backpack is probably lighter. -
I'm still a student in a community college, so the backpack would serve 2 purposes -
Buy a different backpack that's more portable, but yes, I would DEFINITELY go with a backpack.. you don't wanna have to carry a 12lb computer with 1 arm in a briefcase. Lighten the load for yourself and slowly give yourself back problems instead.. lol
-
the backpacks are just a target.
you can get the same if not better specs from outside brands such as swiss gear, targus, and the like...all without screaming "mug me" i have an AW unit and backpack....
