    Huh? Why shouldn't I be able to get one for school? I like gaming just as much as the next guy. So I need a laptop for that and I need one for school too... So why not kill two birds with one stone? IMO you are kind of sounding like a hypocrite because don't you want one for school too? :)

    yes but im not taking out a student loan im earning my money one sandwhich at a time.

    but i can understand wanting it and useing it for school, i do it and i enjoy it. It was the loan part i was referring to.

    I am getting one but its all my money and i will be playing some games yes, thats normal :D

    i am not trying to be a hypocrite i am just saying.

    sorry if i came across that way, i told you im old fashion

    @Ryu

    its a great gaming machine but not so much the in class note taking machine since it dies quite quickly :)

    its more gaming then school....yes the new one is better for gaming but it can do better job of staying alive :p

    Oh ok. Yea i understand what you mean now sorry I didn't exactly understand what you didn't like. I would have love to been working to make the money for it now. But circumstances have prevented me from saving up a good amount of money to be able to buy this laptop. So the only way I would be able to buy this laptop right now is if I can get a loan. I planned on paying it off after this summer. When I can work all day every day. But right now I can't

    i can understand situations like that .... i just see people every day taking out loans and then never paying.

    like i said before i paid 20% of my minimum wage to taxes and got back 4$ or 1% due to taxes to pay for retards....

    Good luck though :)

    And thats true, do you know how much battery life it should save running in stealth mode?

    i should be able to get 2-2.5 hours

    @ryjun

    i looked into that but a decent net book was like 350-400

    and selling my m17 @1500 i need 300 for a m17x basic model

    and for another 300 SLI and another 100 WUXGA

    so i chose to take the upgrade cost and not loose performance. Also i am 6'6 and about 215.. a netbook is kindaaaaa small lol

    What's the difference between the m17x using stealth mode and the binary gfx i'm kind of unclear about it what's the difference exactly i know they shut the dedicated cards off.......

    i think binary gfx is just using integrated graphics but everything else running full speed. Stealth mode all the components get reduced in speed and power usage.

    It's to save power. So when it shuts off the dedicated cards that's less power usage you are taking out of the battery and also it says something about having a 65W power limit in the system. So everything is powered down to maximize battery efficiency.

    Does anyone know why they decided to go with the 9v battery instead of the 12v one they used in the M17 and m17x?

    it doesn't only do it when it battery mode it does it whenever you aren't doing anything that the 9400 can handle.

    I stated that I was frustrated with the tax... it was more of a rhetorical question... It's going to Run me about 3,800 for my M17x... The 2 MXM 3.0's, great look, and no disk tray! are what sold me... After shipping I'm looking at around 4k Jesus my dad isn't going to be happy with me lol

    why go for such a high price config when i did a config with

    QX9300
    4gb ddr 1333
    250gb HD
    1920x1200 (1200p) display
    and 1 year complete care warranty for $3499

    with the 7% discount should be around $3522 so stop whining if you cant afford it or cant stop but complain then dont get it lol now as for me im trying to save every corner that i can and still get atleast the best deal possible on this system not cuz i cant afford it but since im paying for it myself i would like to get the best for my needs at a good price... I also thought you needed this for school? im not trying to kid myself on what i want this for if the sager 9282 or whatever with the i7 was your choice go for that i think you can get the base I7 and alot of bells and whistles and be around 2800 with a single gtx 280 and not to mention its a real desktop i7

    as for me im stuck on either going for the QX9300 or a t9600 and future upgrade to a QX9300 but thats like only saving like 200-400 bucks and if i go OEM thats a savings of 25 bucks might as well get it from dell all at once choices choices

    For all the people waiting for their new machines:

    I have talked to 6 (yes 6...) different sales reps who say TYPICALLY it takes 3-5 days for build and 3-5 of it sitting around waiting to be shipped. All 6 sales guys told me they couldn't guarantee a time frame like that...but they would bet money on it...so cross fingers they go out fast

    You just changed my mind, I am going to order in the next few hours.

    Just ONE more thing, what are most people doing for a processor, dual-core wise (I feel like quad-core is a bit overkill at this moment from what people are saying)
