Im still waiting...its been 8 days for me and still no sign?? admittedly the post is late today but hopefully it will arrive soon.
The parcel tracking only tracks it to the Chinese border than dissapears for 3 days or so until it gets to customs at Coventry! this was 2 days ago and still no sign...gutted!
I hope shirley is not mad at me for reporting him to Ebay for advertising his processors item location as USA instead of China...LOL -

there is a good chance of it...that WAS kind of a mean thing to do to a guy who has been very nice to all of us (many of his customers here lol)
Anyways, that aside, he has been very reliable for me, got both my qx9300 and x9100 quickly from him. -

just say shirley. i still think it's a girl and your saying he and him. lol.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
It has been confirmed he is a guy. Someone spoke to him on phone.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
aww.. now i'm disappointed. i thought there was a hot chick out there selling qx9300/x9100/etc left to right
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
haha, sorry Don.
-
Hi Scook,
I did point out in the E-mail that "HE"(come-on Don,some Oriental people always use these daft names) is a very well-respected E-bayer and everyone is happy with his products but he should not display his items as being in the US when they are clearly in China. We should be given the facts!
apart from that I will give him good feedback when I finally get the processor and it works OK. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
Ok ok when i see something like lisa. i'll just think of a dude sell stuff now.
is he still out of qx9300??? -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Glad you got it. Would have been better to contact him first rather than reporting to ebay, sort of shows lack of respect. But I know what you mean, I prefer US sellers too - just feels safer haha
BUT
All the hardware companies are in Taiwan and therefore that is where all the ES chips go so they are kind of the only game in town -
precisely Don...LOL
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Don he is charging same as HP now (he wants $520 last I saw), get an OEM
-
yeah OK, I could have contacted him...your right!
I noticed a lot of other sellers in Taiwan and thought that they were naturally losing customers to Shirley because everyone in the west would prefer a US seller.
It has to be fair! -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
Life isn't fair haha
As long as I can get a good price, I am not picky(thus Shirley won)
-
thats my point right there Scook...thanks for reminding me;
the processor from Taiwan was the same money(he must be trying to compete..well it was a little more, but delivery was less) but I chose Shirley simply because I thought....jesus its in the US, I would rather order from there!
So he took my business from another seller by telling a porkie.
not the biggest crime in the world I know.
also, Ive not heard anything back from E-bay in over 3 days and his listings are still showing as Hoboken, United States;
http://shop.ebay.co.uk/merchant/shirleyfu1117_W0QQ_dmdZ1QQ_ipgZ50QQ_sopZ12?_rdc=1
I suspect from this that he is probably not breaking any rules so its doesnt matter now!
anyway...going off-topic a bit...sorry! -
I believe Shirley is in NJ but his supplier is in China.
-
I think some of his CPUs are located here and some in china . He might have a middle man here that handles a portion of them and then other ones that he might only get 1 or 2 of come straight from china .

regardless, HP has him beat on the QX9300
Mine ships today and several others have already gotten theirs -
Mine sitting outside my front door. Luckily you guys don't know where I live.
-
Im glad someone like HP is selling these so cheap and if i didnt already have a good Qx9300 that i know can handle 3.2ghz i would have snagged one of these.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I don't think HP will be doing this forever, frankly I am surprised they still have it at that price. It is a fact that intel is charging them much more than this for the part (unless they got some special deal going on)
That being said, EVERYONE should get at least 1 haha -
Yeah i thought about getting one and then selling mine actually since i would prefer OEM again to a ES but i have no issues with mine and i would be spending more money on something i clearly dont need . right now id rather get a new screen for my M17 since the Wxga is just horrible.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I am getting the OEM and selling my ES, since ES didn't OC as far as I wanted anyway. Also want to see if I can get Dell to include the qx9300 in warranty since is an OEM part haha (long shot I know)
-
Yeah that wont happen since you didnt buy it from then but either way its piece of mind knowing its OEM which to me is worth it .
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
That is why I am getting it! I paid $450 anyway for my ES so the difference is WELL worth it (and a warranty from Intel - even though I hope to never use it)
-
Intel doesn't offer a direct warranty on OEM chips...and they do not warranty any CPU sold on an Auction site (even boxed retail). If you've got a problem with the HP QX9300 you have to go through HP to get it resolved.
http://www.intel.com/support/processors/sb/cs-020033.htm -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
well, that is still a warranty, which the ES lacked
-
I called them & they dont know
Alreay took money from me &
my laptop just sitting there with them -
Ah so the HP OEM chips came good in the end....
congratulations guys! -
sorry to sound negative but this is what I believe. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
yes, I am happy about getting an OEM at an amazing price haha, but we will see, SOMETHING is shipping out, we will see just what when it arrives
-
Yeah you'll love your X9100. It raised my score about a 1000 points in 06. I had the lowest cpu from AW and when I popped it in, it was on steroids. I really have to start with Vantage. You have to pay for that right?
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
ya but only $20...or find a key from someone online haha
-
And you can run the P test all you want for about $7
-
Which Vantage are you guys using? 3DMark or PCMark?
-
3dmark....
-
Hey guys I got a question. Who do I call at AW for upgrades? Tech Support?
-
Try tech support. Are you calling about the 4850's?
-
if Alienware send my PC back witout upgrade
can they do that ?
WOW i hope not -
Have you tried to phone again Lord Vader? what exactly did they say to you when you called yesterday?
In fact, from reading this forum I notice nobody here as really spoken to ALienware since I got that bad E-mail last week saying that Alienware are not going to offer the 4850s as an upgrade. -
Thats not true
Its on the Site, when you choose the m17
& last i spoke to them, they said they waiting for Stocks to come
hopeing to have it in by this month -
Hi Lord vader, sorry to sound ignorant but whats not true? I was not saying that the 4850s are not on the Alienware site just that it seemed nobody had said that they had spoken to them(apart form you) since I received that E-mail from Alienware saying NO 4850s as an upgrade full stop.
What scared me more was as soon as I posted that E-mail on here Chaz(the moderator, who apparrentally knows people at Alienware) posted back saying that Alienware dont have to offer us upgrades at all....which is totally correct btw but I got the impression from that... he knows something we dont!
The second part of your post sounds good though, can I just ask; when you say "the last I spoke to them" was it after this;

Dear Mr. Toth,
recently, we have received the information that the ATI RADEON M98 1GB HD4850 will not be available for sale as an upgrade.
I'm really sorry for this.
Kind Regards

that was dated 28/7/09...was it after this lord vader that you spoke to Alienware?
That same guy kept telling me previous to that E-mail the same thing Alienware is telling you....we will get the upgrade soon, just waiting for stock.
That E-mail sounds to me like they have changed their mind.(I know that they do get it wrong though)
thanks. -
Would be extremely idiotic from them to do something like that... I for once would never buy a product from AW again and im sure almost everyone that owns an m17 with 3870's would do the same.
Offering the upgrades for new systems only just to get extra cash from new systems and not keeping your existing customers happy (and still getting money) is a bad move. -
so has anybody got benchmarks for these things yet!
has the fella that got m17 the same results as the fella who managed to blag two cards from alienware.
and improvement wise what are we talking here 10 20 30 40 50 % in games
thanks for any help you lot!!!! -
I think its differnt for UK
& Im in USA
what I meant by Its not true is
they will have the Upgrades
itsa feeling but now im having doughts too
I just spoke to them & they still waiting for stocks
& they still waiting for Stock
But they did not say no Upgrade
Could be they stalling me By saying NO STOCK
& then i will have to call back my laptop
I agree with - CooLMinE
"Offering the upgrades for new systems only just to get extra cash from new systems and not keeping your existing customers happy (and still getting money) is a bad move."
I still feel the upgrade will happen
just taking time thats all
But now i will call back my laptop & do it when they have it stock
than just sitting without my laptop
& if they Dont give upgrades For sure its GOOD BYE to AW for ever
already they mistreat their customers
I asked why did you charge my card when u did not have stocks ?
they have No Ans
-
Hi LordVader,
As long as they have not said "no upgrade" to you then there is still hope and the status quo remains. So we shall wait and see!
I still dont buy that argument about Alienware being daft to not offer the upgrade.....how many companies do daft things that dont sit well with their customers, as well as the fact I think Alienware/Dell are making a massive fortune on the M17X bringing in a whole new audience of customers who would not previously have spent such a large amount of money on a PC/notebook. They may decide to hell with "the old Alienware PCs" and just concentrate on the new ones....M17X and M15X refresh.
lets keep the faith guys! -
Yeah it's just a waiting game. Soon they'll start letting us upgrade to the 4850's
-
Yeah we have to believe that its gunna happen as we have not been told officially by more than one person at Alienware that we are not getting them.
-
i refuse to even answered that ... just read and you would actually learn
sory to be harsh but ... -
Just put up another one of those search boxes Moo!!! LOL
or a Facepalm..lol
4850's Finally out for the m17
