Yeah Jarvis was running on that machine

From what I have heard from a reliable person it will be avaliable to order this month ... Ie 2 weeks
also have heard there has been hints of i7 but Dell is playing this one so hard to the chest that no one will say
I'm guessing they are now due to the amount of secrecy on this notebook .... It's staggering -
It would be suicide, IMO, if it was released with no i7.
This close to launch would be pure stupidity. Not saying that won't happen, just saying that I probably won't be buying -
Has anyone seen the homepage for Google today??? I bet Alienware did have something to do with that. First they launch this stuff today with the video and Allpowerful.com again... it's too much of a coincidence

i don't even know. what alienware has up there *****
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuK6yiPs4kc
ok m15x..... desktop with dx11. and idk what the other is. i wouldn't say another 17/18.5 laptop, i would say a mini desktop or a netbook with something serious in there. -
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
yeah. me also. but since the xps line is dropped. and now alienware is with dell. why not.
as for the i7 mobile. there chance is there but it's low. the m17x just came out. unless they are trying to compete with sager and the way they operate. of course alienware would lose costumers if they went that route. for me though even though it would be cool to get it. i'm not that patient and i want the m17x cause there's some records i have to break.
and i am keeping this notebook for 2-3 years.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

If the refresh was going to be montevina based, they would have released it with the M17x.
(Instead of waiting for the mobile i7 release) -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
that is what i am thinking. i don't like to think of what it could be and i'm completely wrong though. i hate that.
what are the chances one of the pictures is just to present the m17x again. just like "hey all. i'm m17x don't forget about me. i have been around for some time and i didn't want to mess out on anything." or something like that.
i'm sticking to
m15x
netbook
desktop with i5/ new i7(1156 socket)
now war put into my head a mini desktop...... so much options.... -
-
Well, the M17x will still be gaming-king because of SLI
The refresh will most likely be targeted at gaming and multimedia.
So i7 + a good single gpu wouldn't take away from the Allpowerful tag of the M17x.... -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i think it would big time if it is a laptop......
unless it is the m15x and the netbook getting it. then that's something...
i don't think the m17 is going anywhere until a year or two. how ever long they signed the contract for. the m15x is going right out the door. and i don't keep up with there desktops. lol -
It's just preference. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
now with specs and now that sleey0 brought it up. i believe the m15x will have a mobile i5/i7.
otherwise they would of change that trouble maker already. -
To me, i7 is a no-brainer.
I am just curious as to what the gpu will be -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
that's something that would require alot of thinking.
i would say a dx11 but ..... the "flagship" would be affected....
i would say it would stay single gpu..
my vote big time is ati...... because of price.. -
Actually, with win7 right around the corner, I could see possibly a dx11 ATI gpu
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
i just put it onto my laptop and it is wonderful (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit FREE! - and legit)
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i notice nvidia isn't saying much. i believe they are waiting for ati. then they are going to match there cards and come out with something better. but that's another topic.
so what do you think is coming out....
i think some desktops as well.
what do you think about a netbook. is it worth thinking about or a long shot???? -
Netbook is a possibility now that Dell has a say
The marketing goliath that Dell is, ya know?
Anyway, Moo said there were 2 desktops and 1 laptop. 1 desktop is a full-on gaming beast and the other a smaller one (shuttle, anyone? lol).
We will see next week! -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
oh oh ok. that's for your incite. i wasn't keeping up with the thread. so i was alittle lost on everything. then i got the email with that video from alienware. (page 11)
-
No prob, don.
I am excited for next week, that's for sure -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
me to. i'm trying to think of the design of the m15x. the m17x has a lambo look to it.
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=417349
so i'm thinking something like bugatti or a mazarati... i'm just thinking of the top of my head... like they did with the m17x. the only thing i wish the m17x had was the extra lcd like the m1730 but it's no biggi. (bragginf rights.)
-
I hate to break it to ya, but they designed it after the toyota matrix XRS
. look...
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
SEXY CAR!
lol -
Wasn't there a picture around with some small pentagons on a red background or something? I think that would be a part of the M15x. I just don't know what part would that be.
-
I will purchase the m15x with the i7 mobile processor and benchmark it for your pleasure when its out
I am hoping it gets the 5870 gpu..... only time will tell. -
they got 1 weekish until my money shows up to have something for sale or i am getting my macbook

Tried to find some Clarksfield release info, but I am finding those articles have been pulled, at least from these 2 sites, but the cached version is still available:
http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache...elease+date+schedule&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
The highly anticipated Core i7-based "Clarksfield" Notebook CPUs will be available by October 2009. They will be released in three models as listed below. Each featuring four cores, Socket PGA-G1, DDR3 1333MHz memory and Turbo Boost support.
* Core 2 Extreme XE (2GHz, 3.2GHz TB, 8MB L3 Cache, 55W)
* Core 2 Quad P2 1.73GHz (1.73GHz, 3.06GHz TB, 6MB L3 Cache, 45W)
* Core 2 Quad P1 1.6GHz (1.6GHz, 2.8GHZ TB, 6MB L3 Cache, 45W)
http://74.125.95.132/search?q=cache...elease+date+schedule&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
Basically the same, but less text.
And, here is one from the same day, that didn't get pulled, but it doesn't have the detailed chip specs that the other 2 articles provided...
http://cogadget.com/2009/07/14/inte...ield-cpus-for-laptops-launching-in-september/
I am guessing the 2 different speeds listed for each processor, are the low power speed, and the Turbo Boost speed.
Looking forward to seeing what comes out on the 23rd
Check out Blacky's post #1 from that same day:

-
-

-
No .........
-
led screen and I'm there baby!
-
Hey Moo, do you think your contact would be able to give you more info as the date gets closer? Or do you know alot more... ? *insert cliffhanger music here*
Edit: btw Moo, love the new avatar! -
I was also hoping one of the alien heads would represent a 12/13-inch. -
The will not be a 12 at this time
There is a mini and a full desktop both look amazing
also since your in Europe the computers will be overpriced as booty -
so no M17x refresh?
-
What ?
who mentioned refresh
its 2 desktops and a m15x -
Think it was a joke lol, hope it was anyway or the speculation has gone too far!

I don't really care what comes out, im just interested to see how alienware evolves. I'm glad there finally changing the design for their desktops. After all those years and allways kept the same look. Anyway i think this is more the way to go for them:
><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yIjNyTuxO18&hl=nl&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yIjNyTuxO18&hl=nl&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='320' height='265'></embed></object>Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
IMO its a step back ....from what i saw
-
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
Id like to see them implement the same techniques not necesarely the style. like how to open the sides is pretty awesome.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
I think they should have a cool look this time like there new m17x vs there first gen.
-
the new one has certain reasons for opening each side ......
not as extreme but each side has a purpose
ALLPOWERFUL.com IS BACK ! with a vengence
