But does the email insinuate I won't be getting my discount?
-
-
Not at all. It explicitly states they'll give you the same price with the same promotions, should you need to reorder. The only limit I see is on rebates.
You have three days to get the issues with your card figured out before they'll even cancel the order, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.
EDIT: It seems the rep who told me before that it was too late to add NBD shipping may have been telling the truth after all. Though he didn't change my shipping method, he got my delivery date moved up from the 15 to the 23rd, and just emailed me to let me know it's in the final production stage. Haven't others here mentioned their shipping method staying the same even after having NBD shipping added? -
Hey, just for the record, I don't think signing up for the newsletter gives you a free $50 coupon anymore. Just tried it on a different email address and nope.
I do have a question though. I was talking with Team Blackhawk, and they were saying they could give me a $50 discount to bring the cost for a Lunar Shadow M11x SU7300/4GB/160GB to $899. I would also probably try to get the DPA, and use the general free ground shipping coupon. The rep I talked to seemed to want to process the order over the telephone. Though I still don't fully understand how Bing works, I thought I'd try to make use of the 5% cashback. How would I go about doing this? Request the rep give me a quote number so I could order online, sign up for Bing, go through Bing to get to the Dell website, sign myself in to my Dell account and order? -
I just PM'd you my unused $50 code.
-
Pardon my mistake. Signing up for the EPP newsletter still gets you a $50 coupon for EPP purchases. It's the signing up for the Home Office newsletter that does not appear to give you a coupon. (And thanks for trying to help IMADV8.)
-
No problem. If anyone else wants, it, just let me know.

Ordered the M15x yesterday along with the Alienware backpack.
Total with EPP, Taxes, NBD, and $50 was:
$1,764.00
Price I paid:
$1,658.53
Savings of:
$105.47
Not that impressive but money saved is money saved. -
Also, called about my order today(Dell and AE), got free NBD shipping -
I think I'm going to die of impatience before Thursday.
-
Korn shoulda kept the m11x =D.
-

Hey guys!
Has anyone from the uk successfully managed to haggle down the price of the M15x or the M17x?
Doesn't seem to be many success stories this side of the pond... -
whats the best way to go about getting free NBD?
saw the new 25% off ram thats being offered with my M15x...thinking about calling and saying since I didnt get the 25% off from the RAM when I ordered can I just have NBD shipping to make up the difference.
what other things are you saying and having success with? -
All I did was call and told the rep that I needed it by a certain date. Then he gave it to me.
-
My M11x came last night.
It is all that I imagined and more. -
Hey guys, pwny here. Long time lurker, first time poster.
Well it appears the m17x configuration I had saved in my shopping cart decided to go up a couple of hundred dollars overnight, which somewhat irritates me as I was ready to go for it.
What's the best way to presently go about knocking that down?
Anyone have something like that 15% for joining that facebook group or something? -
Calling a representative and haggling. I have one if you would like. Gave me 15% off
-
-
emailing you now
Edit: ty Ram. For those curious enough, I posted a reps info, nothing more. -
Oh, right.
If you could email me at [email protected] with the code i'd appreciate it quite a bit.
And before someone gets on me for posting my email on a forum, it's a spam account anyways.
I'll check with that rep too, thanks. -
blue korn... take that info off the forums... its against the rules... dont want you gettin banned or whatever..
-
The rep that I was ordering with downgraded my system and called it a discount.. now I have to cancel. So pissed. Pm me plz if u know a good rep bc the one I got lied to me to get me to buy...
-
Bob, you need at least 10 good posts (Off topic doesn't count) to be able to access PMs.
-
Sad face lame, ow well 8 more posts to go. thanx for the info.
-
I attempted to call a rep today, and He (eventually) attempted to transfer me to a EPP sales representative when I mentioned that I was a AAA member (not an employee), after a 6hour wait to fix some sort of issue dealing with him thinking I was an employee I was informed that the discount is for employees only, and not members(which was just before he almost transferred me). The Rep admitted that he was new to this.. so maybe I should attempt another sales representative? I currently do not qualify for any EPP discounts and he explained that the student discount did not apply to the M17x. Most of the conversation time was spent when he went to check with a manager.. so I'm assuming that it's probably a policy change that forces the rep to actually confirm EPP discounts. All I have so far are the freebies, the 3% DPA and 25% off ram upgrades promo. I'm just not sure at this point if haggling is going to produce measurable results. He's supposed to call back Wednesday, so I have until then to prepare.
-
Call back Lozz. One rep won't do the justice. Student discount does apply to M17x because being a student qualifies you for EDD. Most of us took average of 10 different sales rep to get the right one so keep trying. Don't wait for his call, most likely he will act like he's giving a discount but when he emails you the quote, he downgrades a lot of your specs to match the price.
-
My order actually shows my company on it "pepsico"
-
I'll try again tomorrow I suppose. The only problem I can see is that I really don't have any semester information(just recently starting) to provide to speak of should they attempt to make sure I'm actually a student. haha
-
I don't know but I'm wondering how are they going to check if you are actually listed in an University as University protects your information even from your parents. Either way, out of the 10 reps I spoke to, they just wrote down my school's name and it was applied so... I don't think you should worry about that!
-
-
Hmm.. I just checked the site and there's nothing about high school being qualified for EPP. The closest option would be "Higher Education Faculty, Students, and Staff." But then again.. who knows.. it's Dell..
-
I actually just eye peeped the EDD m17x discount online and it appears to be a significant amount (10%) so that, plus the 3% DPA and I'm up to 13% if I can just find a rep to give me the Student EPP discount. which is good enough for me. If I can get them to still give me the 25% off memory upgrades I'll be very happy.
-
heres what you do ask for 20% right off the bat as soon as the conversation starts. then once hes got your configuration and is ready to take your payment info remind him that you wanted 20% it worked for me.
-
I got lucky it seems, the first *overseas* sales rep I spoke with managed to slice off $381 without much haggling. It's really all I was looking for anyway, so I'm happy, free NBD and all.
-
-
M17x, I was really surprised I got such a significant discount from simply calling up an EPP sales rep instead of a normal one, I suggested that I wanted to combine my 3% dpa and EDD discounts, but instead it looks like I got a coupon code that has a similar discount amount. It was fairly loaded too, I only skimped on the warranty , 2 years premium instead of 4, I got the 1TB Raid 0 HDD's and the i7 720m, besides that everything else was spec'd up.
-
I'd rep you but I currently don't have any power so i'll hit you up later when it will actually do something.
I did finally manage to get through everything, i'll spare you the details but I did manage to get a bit of a discount so i'm happy.
Now the waiting game starts.
