What is the best way to get info on Dell coupons/deals? Do you sign up for their email notifications or is there another site out there that tracks these things the best.

I missed out on their $350 coupons earlier..really would like to hit another one of those deals the next time before it goes away! :)

Hey guys/girls! I have been following this thread and thought I I might be able to add some info. I was looking at an Alienware and then switched to a Precision m6600 and was able to get it for an amazing price! Every question or concern have been answered quickly and accurately. I will be purchasing the system soon and just wanted to help my fellow forum members!

The rep is a cool guy who understands that we are trying to look for the best value. He will also help guide you towards the best build for your needs and then work with the pricing afterwards. I do have a slight warning, please do not be rude or verbally abuse the rep. He will attempt to work with you the best he can.I have his contact information for anyone who is interested (pm me).

so i spec'd out my m14x and came out to about 1,450ish without any discounts. it seems as though a lot of people can get it down to 1100 or so from that price. i was wondering if anyone had advice on getting other stuff like accessories like headphones, backpack, and a sleeve. i would love to somehow bargain for the razer megalodon... anyone got some tips or advice?

Any italian rep who can offer good discount rates?

I started a chat with a rep and then he called me by phone. We talked about a M14X: the final price was 1299€ and with the discount he offered me the price lowered to 1234€.

I don't know why we (italians) can't use any coupon. The rep didn't offer me anything, no mouse, no next day shipping. I asked for a 1x4GB stick of ram, but that wasn't possible.

Any chance to lower that price?

Just pony up the money and get it from factory. The warranty will cover the chip and even accidental. If your chip from china burns out or is a dud well than you are on your own. The price difference for 920xm ES and 920xm from factory was huge. In the 2920xm case the price is not big enough to worry about it. If you have already accepted the fact you will spend big $$$ for a chip with minor bump in gaming then just pay dell and have it covered. When you get system replacement in the future they will give you the NEW xm chip at that time....will china swap out your old 920xm for 2920xm under warranty

System in my Sig, with 2 year accidental, 2245 before taxes, 2550 after.

As for the call tracking Cwaz, I can confirm this. I was talking with three different reps. And they knew that other people had been talking to me. That however didn't prevent them for competing for my business.

Also a new pointer, maybe moderator can add this to the first section. I have found out that general sales and the Employee Pricing Program work for two different 'camps' if you would. They will compete greatly for your business. I am guessing they are each attempting to hit targets not only for themselves (commissions) but for their dept/team under their coach.

If you work for a company that has and EPP with dell. Get a quote from the EPP department, then call general sales and see what they can do ... you CAN play these groups off each other.

Like I said earlier, I got over 15% off by doing this. My EPP discount was only supposed to be 8%. I actually placed an order with general sales, and then the guy from EPP called back the next day, cancelled my order threw in the warranty and replaced the order for me ...

    Greetings to you all,

I need some help from you guys. I am writing from Europe, Romania (Transylvania more specifically).

My best friend is in the US on a business trip, he is in Chicago right now where he will stay until July 2nd, then leave back for Romania.

I've asked him to buy a laptop for me on this trip, a present for my birthday. After looking around for a few weeks, I set my mind on an Alienware M14x. I gave my friend 1200 dollars, that’s two months average (medium) salary here.

Now I’m not a greedy person, I was planning on getting just the i7 2630QM processor and the 900p/1600x900 screen above the entry level machine, as I know they are well worth the money. Bluetooth was just an optional, in case of a good deal.

The problem is, there seems to be only one configuration on the Alienware site that can be shipped in time, before my friend leaves the US. It costs 1399 dollars.

My friend might be able to pay the sales tax over the 1200 dollars, which I will have to pay him back later. With the tax and all, lets say I can go as high as 1300 dollars. That’s all the money I’ve got, 100 dollars in dept…

So, if any of you guys could help me buy an M14x, I would be most grateful. I don’t know how I could repay you right now, but I would not forget your kindness.

Well, can at list someone give me some advice? I'm kind of running out of time. Is a 200 dollars (15%) to big of a discount for one of the reps that you know? Can't any one of you put my friend in touch with a good rep?

As I said before, I'm not greedy, I would have bought the laptop with 4 gb ram and if needed without bluetooth, but the 1399 laptop is the only one that is shipped fast.

I would have PM some of you guys, but it wouldn't be exactly nice of me to post 10 times in 24 hours just to be able to do that. I've tried to contact somebody from here by other means, but there was no reply.

Code: BHW1L0MX0D?MCX - Works as a $50 Stackable for the m17x (new systems)

Code: 7WR1C2?HTTQQ11 - Works as a $150 Stackable for the XPS 17 (also for new ones)

Otherwise, I didn't find them useful either.

Good news! I just ordered an m17x by phone.

First try to foreign support I got $50 bucks off. lame...

Second try to specifically US support was a success. Got about 300 off the price of a very high end system. He did say that normally he couldn't take off that much, but I had added many upgrades and so the price was pretty high. I also used the advice of DR650SE and quoted him some competitor's prices since it was much cheaper.

    Thanks again DR650SE.

One bummer... the tax killed me! Ugh 6% is a lot more than it looks initially.

Does anyone know if Dell honors state tax holidays? I'm thinking of cancelling the order for a month till the tax holiday.

Hmm im taking a look around and im wondering if a near base model of the M14x, which runs me 1400 with tax. Should i cancel and try to get a rep and maybe get the xbox and a discount?
My moms employer i believe has a hook up with dell (hospital and shes a ceo assitant) Could this be a EEP? They can order a dell and then take a certain percent per pay check for the computer.

What are your opinions? wait and be paitent or try for a rep? and if anyone knows a rep i would love for you to pm me with there info so i can see if they can lower it for me. 1400 is just alot of money to me i would be willing to pay it but if i can cut it back some i need to start a emergency fund for college. (stupid car scares me half the time with how it acts)

    Hi all,

Long time user of the forum, but not posted a lot. I have now spoken with 3 reps in the UK, 2 online and one on the phone and they have all told me the same thing, they dont offer any reduction on the online price.

Is this true? or do they not like me much? When i bought the M17x 1yr and a half ago i got just under £200 off. Any help or suggestions

p.s. I live in the UK.

It's been stated that the online chat reps can't offer any discounts. Only the phone reps can. You probably just got unlucky with that one phone rep. Try calling back.

Just wanted to let you all know that I called Dell within the 21 day return period and threatened to return my M14x and they offered $300 off! Look at the specs in my sig for ~$1450, what a steal!

not really. chat reps can also give discount. i was able to get $500 off for my m18x.

if they say that the online price is the best price that they can offer, tell them that you will just go ahead and process the order by yourself. then my rep changed his mind and asked me to stay as he requested his supervisor to approve the discount. :)
