They'll pretty much discount anything if you ask...
but obviously more money spent = more discount. Dont expect more than a few bucks or so.

Anyone have new coupon codes? The ones for $100 off expired yesterday.
-
Anyone know what the aafes discount is nowadays?
-
Anyone from Australia tried haggling with dell for aliewnare or xps laptops?
-
Every time i call i the rep isn't being much help at all. I could do better with online coupons, so i was wondering if anyone wants to send their awesome rep some business their way
-
i'm not from US but can i order and use the address of a shipping company?
-
Some people outside US/Canada will often use HIDevolution or you can use services like myus.com
--------
If anyone still needs a rep, feel free to PM me. I've answered like 50 PM's so far with his contact infoHe's been giving out discounts ...some very generous, but like all discounts, they don't last forever. Never hurts to e-mail/cell him
He's an American rep based in Tennessee.
Some PM replies I received ranged from 80-500$ discounts. Not sure if it depends on what model you get or how much you spend, but it's a general idea of what you could potentially save.
Just don't PM me if you're a vicious haggler with no manners -
voodooi thank you. i'll order now but i think chat reps don't give discounts tsk tsk.
-
Does anyone happen to know if reps are giving out discounts on the M17x at this time? I was a bit disappointed to find out that the new student deals don't cover most of the Alienware machines (though I suppose it should've been expected).
Thanks. -
-
I looked right around midnight last night because I was excited I could potentially get a 360+m17x at a discounted price, but when I asked a chat rep they stated the m17x is not part of the promotion..
I guess it doesnt matter because I'm still interested in getting the laptop, but I need at least 500 off the price which will be hard to do I think.. Either way I would also like to know if reps are known for giving out discounts for the m17x... -
Does anyone have specifics on how to easily "want to return" a laptop to get Dell to give you a gift card? I know it's outlined at the beginning, but maybe someone who's done it could tell me what exactly they did...
-
I ordered my M17X-R3 and then called and tried to change one of my options the next day. They told me that it was already in production and they couldn't do that. So I told them to cancel the order and they told me they couldn't do that BUT they said when I got the machine that if I was unhappy I could ship it back for free...Here's the kicker, they offered me $200 just to keep the computer rather than send it back!

The easiest way to go about it is just literally type in "Alienware Coupons" in Google, I found a coupon for $495 towards any Alienware laptop over $1499, and some other ones that applied to Dell. Someone may have already said this but I just figured I would throw that out there. Good luck.
EXPIRED 5-1-11. My bad everyone. -
-
The $75 off alienware laptop coupon just expired today, now there's only a pity $25 discount going on, do you suspect any major discount(over $100) would be offered on the m14x any time soon?
-
100% is a pretty big discount. I wouldn't hold out for a discount that large.....
-
opps meant to say $100 ;p

Alienware Coupon Codes: $50 Off Purchase, Alienware Coupons, Discount Codes & Free Shipping
Just google coupons for dell and alienware, sometimes it takes some searching but you might get lucky.
EDIT: MY COUPON EXPIRED. SORRY! Just be vigilant and keep an eye on the web for coupons, and deals. -
Thanks for merging my thread, mod
Unless your google is different than mine... -
I checked the website and there aren't any deals for the m11x i5 processor. Should I wait for some deals and then call a rep, hoping to get a further discount? Or is it not possible for them to give more than 1 discount on a single laptop?

Hi Voodooi can you please give me the info of your rep? however I can't PM you because I've only made 2 posts
is there any way you can give me the info? email?
thanks -
is there any way you can give me the info? email?
thanks -
How did this get moved into the M14x subforum?
-
hey Voodooi or anyone else can you please send me a PM for the rep as well? Saw that Dell is selling the m11x with 500 gb SATA and 8 gigs of RAM for $1050 so it seems worth it.
-
Just an update on the Rep I gave before.
I have a rep who is in India, but he is a good rep and is very good at getting $$$ off Alienware computers and any accessories. Send me a tell for his info, Canada only he deals with. -
oh man this totally sucks. I tried calling the Rep that Digital gave me, but he was busy so I got transfered to another Rep. I tried to get a discount on the m11x but he said "And what makes you think I will give you a discount?". Is it just a lot harder to get deals on the m11x cuz its cheaper than the other ones?
And can anyone else give me some Reps, hopefully in North America? The rep i just had was so hard to understand.
Edit*
After a few calls, I found out that my coupons don't work in Canada, so my hope for better deals are pretty slim. -
I am in a bit of a dilemma and I need some help from the NBR community. So here it is for the story. I was in hopes of getting a m17x for college next year and was expecting my mom to chip in some money to help fund me. Turns out that my mom actually looked up the laptop and found out it was $2000+. Now guess what, shes not helping me pay for it. This might seem a little lame but i felt that my heart has been ruptured by 10,000 spears. I now am on a budget of $1700-$1900 of my own money and was wondering if you guys can pm me a rep that will offer a low price.
-
Is there a physical store where I could actual see and touch an m14x?
There used to be a Dell store in the mall here in Dallas, but it closed down for some reason. -
Hello everyone, I was trying to haggle over Dell chat today, but to no avail. I spoke to a representative about my EPP discount (I attend and work at Wichita State), and they only gave me 2% toward my purchase of the Alienware M14x. I guess I can't couple that with me $50 off coupon I have as well. Has anyone had any luck with haggling over chat, or should I really just stick to the phone?
Thanks -
read the first post broseph.. it's been discussed a million times that dell chat reps cant/wont give any discount other than what they're required to. phone is much better
might take a few calls though
-
Yeah, I figured as much. I did, however, get the chat rep to give me a (somewhat) discounted quote; so now I have something to work with!
-
2630
8 GB ram
Crossfire
750 GB
for $2364.90 including taxes (originally for $2853.18) that's a $488.28 off
it's up to you on how you can make it happen.
i believe chat sessions and phone transactions over the phone are recorded for quality evaluation purposes. and sales reps are not just graded for their sales but also for their call handling and on how they treat customers. and that's the reason why there are surveys out there. of course sales reps dont want to receive an unfavorable result. but as customer you should know your and their limitations. -
Does anyone have a Dell agent who they can recommend (and provide contact info)? I'm going to be ordering my M14x tomorrow or Wednesday, and I'd like to try and get a good deal. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
-
same here. Anyone have a US sales rep? I'm going to call them in 1 or 2 hours.
-
I was watching a video on youtube and the guy said that he bought his m14x for $850. He said he used a couple different online coupons one being a 21% off and a few others.
I searched on google and saw a few but they had all expired except one that got $50 which isn't a ton but it helps.
I think I'm going to wait to purchase my m14x until I can get a 20% off coupon becuase that would be saving $250 to $300. -
wow...Great thread...I'm waiting after E3 to order a alienware (just incase they announce new specs/revisions on laptops)...What is the success rate for the newer systems? I'm looking at the M18x (specifically).
-
I tried haggling today to no avail. I tried every trick in the book, and called 3 times to 3 different US reps. They just would not budge on the m17x. All i added was the 6970m and the 1080p screen. AAA discount would it it for me for 1869 after tax. I asked if they could do anything else for me, since i'm going to college and all, and they wouldn't budge.
This is not working for me. any other mega coupons i can use to get a serious discount?
-
Thank you DR650SE for the advice here! Even though I didn't go to Dell for a computer (I'm getting a Thinkpad), your advice still helped me out a great deal.
I configured my W520 with the following specs on their Barnes and Noble site:
i7-2720QM
1080p display
Quadro 2000M
500GB 7200RPM HDD
4GB 1DIMM 1333MHZ DDR3 RAM
Centrino 6205
Bluetooth 3.0
Standard 1yr Warranty
Total from that was $1656.65. I also had a docking station in the cart, just to try to haggle a better discount since I was going to buy extra stuff anyway.
Last Friday I called, telling the rep that I'm a rising engineering student and I only had $1400 saved up for the laptop minus extras, and after ~40 minutes over the phone, my rep told me I could get the 10% discount on top of the B+N discount (so...$1490.98 for the laptop) if I bought the dock. Normally, the 10% email discount only applies on "your next purchase". I had him email me that quote.
Called back yesterday and changed the docking station to a Kensington lock, Centrino 6300, and 2yr Onsite + TPP Warranty. After 50 minutes on the phone, I was able to buy the W520 (plus the extra goodies) for $1664.68 before taxes ($1506.28 for the W520, $158.40 for the goodies).
Compared to the retail price of the total order (for everything, $2167.00 beofre taxes), I was able to save 23.2% off my order thanks to your advice
Right now I'm just annoyed because I hate waiting for it, but what can I do? -
Has anyone had any success haggling with Sony? I know you can shop over the phone with them as well. Would love an SA but after warranties it just turns out to be too much.
-
I got a free limited time VIP coupon (5%) on all Dell products. If anyone is interested PM me for details. I can't use it for my business needs as it is not valid through our dealer channel. Ironically, I receive these coupons from my dealer operations, lol.
Anyways, it will expire soon, so if anyone interested, - be quick -
