    sigh the m15x is getting the 9800m GTX like i suspected :( sigh i feel horibly stupid i ordered my laptop 1 DAY2 early :( ive just ordered a 9800m GT m860tu

    ohh well.. i hope u perspective m15x guys get black as well and in matte.


    gosh i feel stupid.. but i guess ive saved some money (but lost alot of batterylife/performance).

    the 9800m GTX is how much more powerfull than my 9800m GT?


    hears hoping to the 9800m GTX running well in the new m15x and it being a wonderful laptop for all you guys that waited 24hours longer than silly old me :)

    It's from a 'little' find from Michaels again !! :D

    Note the CPU's have got the same specs as the P series-25W ones !! They'll run cooler and better battery life..
    Well I've just put my money down on a HP dv5t with a nice set of specs - parents didn't give in to getting an AW anytime soon (maybe next year ? ;))

    more early in the thread... Alienwars data base shows the 9800m GTX as a option for the m15x..

    im not that gutted thank god.. but yer some people will be.. the clevo 15 has not even been released yet and its already out of date.

    lol well..sigh.. cant have every thing... + the m15x is really a 16inch case..

    im over it already saved a grand already going for the clevo.. with this option i prob would have to spend 1.5k more or so in australia

    humm 15% more Gigaflops on the GTX... hummm humm.. meh.. unless the refreshed m15x is made of aluminum im not going to cry lol i can live my choice away from alienware was not really a hardware one but the fact they are by the looks of it not going to budge for that creaky gloss finish. ugly ugly

    it's the point though exiled, they have quoted Monty ONLY processors. 1066 FSB and yet throw in 800mhz RAM. Something doesnt add up, neither does the version 1.2 HDMI. On Monty its 1.3. If this is a montevina laptop i will be VERY annoyed.

    Also no such thing as GL40

    I have a genuine question - would readers of this Alienware forum seriously consider investing in a revised m15x with a 9800GTX gpu after what can only be described as a "debacle" with the current m15x?

    Many Montevina notebooks use DDR2 . . . mine does. So it may not be a typo. However . . . I would think DDR2 is out of place on a high-end notebook.

    Problem, in my eyes, with the m15x isn't the problem of overheating /downclocking anymore (AW fixed that). It is the poor workmanship that may lead to chassis failure (the hinges problem).

    I would consider the "revised" m15x if it gets a build quality of a Lenovo, removing my main concern: poor workmanship/ feel of cheap plastic chassis. If they fix this with a stronger chassis/hinges, it easily becomes the top 15" notebook again.

    Hey man don't sweat it. First of all the money would have killed you. I'm expecting the M15x to be in the 3500 - 4000 range with the 9800GTX. In addition, you don't know whether or not they fixed the case and they are already putting a new GPU in which may or may not overheat. Finally, the new M15x's could take FOREVER to ship out

    well if they do release the black chassis i could compare it to my silver m15x. i know they will definitely have a black m15x at digital life if they do release it with this video. i could try out the black m15x and tell every if they did improve anything. but unfortunately digital life isnt until the end of sept. i already got my tickets tho :D

    1 hr and 30 min to go. too bad i wont be home for the release of the video :rolleyes:

    Alienware streams their videos from YouTube. Try opening any YouTube video and turn the volume up, it changes the default for volume, then refresh the AlienNetwork page. That could help.
