Seriously get rid of the guy with the white / black hair on your show. Every time I watch anything with him in it it is very hard to take seriously. Tell him to shave up and dye his hair or something and that will look more professional.

new software to enhance the octaves you cant actually hear.
im running my laptop through 2 1000watt rms speakers and trust me i can hear them without the software.

actually half my street can hear them as well.

also, nothing mentioned about breed even though the video teaser has been out for quite a while.

 

Breed is separate, I didn't really think that they would mention it today. I just got excited before the video, but there's still Breed, which is going to be about the m15x.

 

I'm kind of thankful because I'dve kicked myself in the ass if I could've waited another month for a better m15x.

I went on the live chat to ask about the m15x. One of the questions I asked was if they were going to release a black m15x, the rep responded "It is expected.". So take that for what it's worth...

Ahh.. As you can see in my sig it's preconfiged so I had to go stick with this 1. My parents weren't too keen on getting me an AW anytime soon so I got this laptop, which came to around $1400 - pretty sweet imo

It run's a little warm under the left palmrest but otherwise it's good
According to other users it goes up to 89-91C during heavy gaming/serious load - Chaz suggested in the infamous post #244 that propping the back up one 1/2 inch or using a notebook cooler drops the temps by 10Cs which is more than enough

Surprisingly I got the same notebook Chaz did (just a little lower on the specs side tho )
Battery life is looking to be about 2:30-45 so far.. And there's no backlit keyboard

It's been expected for the last 8 months....

What a waste of time watching this episode of AW network. It was like they just through it together in a few hours and said "yeah I think that'll do". They canceled the last AW network because for some odd reason I guess they didn't realize how bad their CS is. Now I can't say all their CS is bad, Armando and James are pretty good but for the rest of them they are pretty useless. Any chance of me going back to AW just died today Looks like I'll go with the new gateway 7811fx coming out, which is better and is only half the price

wow i just watched the video. it was quite ummm dissappointing . the questions were the stupidest things.... why would a person even think that we are able to plant a chip in your brain so you can play games on the train and look like you are having a seizure while doing it. well it wasnt a black m15x but a black desktop . also why wasnt it the ceo and frank doing it this time. they seemed to give us better info and they actually gave us an update.

 

I can't believe I wasted 10 min out of my day skipping through that video. At least the last video gave us some info. Whats funny to me is that they got every one excited to the video and then they come out with something like that.

 

a huge letdown indeed i was waiting if not the black m15x atleast a new video card would have been nice... but i guess we gotta wait for the second part of the breed episode

 

I just hope that Michaelis can explain how and where did he manage to "get" this information about the new black M15x and the new M15x with montevina.

Surprisingly, he can always get hold of secret information that never come true.

well the black m15x has been announced when the m17x was announced but i dont know anything about montevina coming into the m15x or the m17x

 

I posted about the black m15x showing up on Alienware's site a while back, I just posted it here again to bring it back up. It was taken off a little while after I posted it, but everyone else was able to get to it while it was up.

Credit to him though... he did get the Quadro GPU right.

It's just that there was such a huge hype over the "new" M15x and, funny enough, no one can find the new M15x specs anywhere. And the specs that he got from his "source"... Montevina with DDR2? GL40 IGP (which is the worst of the montevina IGP)? Anyway... it just sounds a bit weird and suspicious.
Just that... not an accusation though.

I really wish there was a new M15x released, with a revised chassis. I would surely be one of the first to buy one of those.

 

Fair enough... It's just very weird. I checked the knowledgebase short after you posted that... I didn't see anything. Maybe they only had it there for a couple of minutes.

Maybe they will release it with Breed 2.

 

I read that Alienware improved the chassis based on some of the newer reviews, I only said that based on what I heard. Your facts are messed up, I never guess the Quadro GPU before it came out. It's Alienware's fault for not releasing it, even though that stuff was up.

 

I didn't say you guessed the Quadro... I said that this was the only thing that you posted that actually was true. Just that.
Anyway... Point is, we are all hoping for something to happen. Let's keep hoping. I do hope we get a good response from AW and that a new M15x does come out. I really miss the lights...

 

That stuff was true, it did appear on Alienware's site, Alienware just never actually released any of it. I'm sure that Breed will lead to something... hopefully... .

After the AlienNetwork video, I'm not sure if Breed is going to turn out to just be some kind of stupid marketing video or a product launch.

 

Well... actually, thinking of it, if they do release a new motherboard with the GL40 chipset, it would be able to support Montevina CPUs but only DDR2 memory. So that would actually make sense...

Lets wait and see... Although I'm still suspicious of seeing an 9800GTX on the M15x (as it is currently). Hopefully they will release some new information soon.

 

didnt you hate how the m15x looks . everyone from your workplace said it was a cheap plastic box.

well the 9800M GTX isnt impossible for the m15x if AW can magically fit a liquid cooling system into the m15x . maybe we can make it a bit wider for the pump . At least you will know the m15x will be one of the best cooled notebook out there even beating the clevo in terms of temperatures.

 

please dont give sager/clevo fanboys something to hitch onto....

Have you found out why it's taking so long? I rang them up yesterday and they said the TV tuners were out of stock and they're looking at getting a different model but they have no idea when that's going to happen. They told me to wait another couple of days but if there's no word on it by thursday I'm going to cancel the tuner. I asked if you can order it separately and fit it yourself without voiding the warantee and I was told that you can. If you look, they aren't even offering it as an option anymore.

They are supposed to email you about delayed parts but they didn't email me. The CS woman said she'd raise that in the next CS meeting.

 

at this rate, soon no-one will have an m15x on the alienware subforum.... everyone is returning! thats like 30000 bucks alienware lost because of us!

Wraithers & didroe, my order is being delayed because of parts being tested. It could be the smart-bay 500Gb Hdd i've ordered. I am dealing with Sean who is very helpful, i'm on priority now which means that once the testing is complete i should have my order in 4 working days...
It's not to bad i've only been waiting 2 weeks this coming Friday so... I expect a month to be honest but, i'm a little impatient ha ha ha ha Only a little honest (",)

I was told that once my order goes into phase 5 i'll get an email and it should give a completion date... So i'll wait and see.

I think the reason most notebooks are being delayed is because they have a shortage of 8800M GTXs (because everyone wants it ) I was told this yesterday when i put my order in to upgrade to the 8800M GTXs (since i dont want to wait for the 9800M GTX its not looking too good) The Rep that i talked to said that they receive a shipment every week on friday and then it is alloted over the weekend and then used or shipped out on monday... hopefully OB the same happens with international orders... i was told if not this weekend then next its hard to tell because they dont know how many people are ahead of me for it aswell well anyways i am just anxiously waiting for my 8800s to arrive know because ive seen what it can do and good luck with the whole process OB

 

Isn't that the truth! Then you have people like omaryunus on here and all you hear is about him upgrading. Kudos to him but man...we are a dying...slowly dying breed. It's alright though.

To also go along with what omaryunus said though, there must be a slight delay because of the back up in GPU's. Fair is fair though and the people who are ordering their laptop will most likely get served first. Well, good luck to OB on getting your laptop finally into production...and I guess good luck to omaryunus on eventually receiving your package.

 

hehe thanks gremlin well i think its the easiest route go low end on the things that can be upgraded and i was just lucky i got a great deal on the X9000 and the laptop world is becoming more and more like the desktop world and soon the barebone systems are gonna get more and more wide spread and that will decrease the price of laptops by far because there will not be labour charges added on and you wont be forced to go with a particular item because thats all they offer or that s the cheapst they offer you can look around more i cant wait till that day well anyways i personally been looking at the knowledgebase on the m15x and its just CRAZY how big of a diff there is in the m15x and the m17x the m17x is sooo much EASIER built i took a total of 8 screws out to change the CPU, the keyboard is REALLY easy to take of just 4 clips you move up adn then slide it out soo easy i love it if they could have made this in a 15 inch (make the m15x more liek the m17x structurly) then they would be BILLIONAIRES well anyways hope everyone has a good ending i never like seeing anyone in pain because i know how it feels losing or not knowing whats going on with your system
