Still happy with mine.
-
The current M11x with the SU series CPU's are great for that system now, I'm not expecting 100 FPS in Crysis or anything I just want newer tech.
Is that so bad
If and when they do come out with new i-core series in the M11x it will be a good thing.
Glad to hear you love your new AW with a passion but no need to get so defensive..lol -
Lol, among the people who voted pro M11x many never actually had it. Shame on you guys.
-
i love it for what it does. at first i was unhappy for the poor performance in 25 man raids (WoW) but then I installed bfbc2, codmw2 and i have to say its dam impressive for a little book like this.
In any case, i bought a sager to do my 25mansm11x is for everything else.

so sweet sauce
-
Love this thing, it plays every game I want flawlessly. Hell, even in a 10 man in WoW with settings cranked up I was still pulling 40 fps. Only one little flaw with the laptop, there is a ever so small scratch above the second "A" on the Alienware logo, but it is pin point small.
Great little computer. -
No issues whatsoever with mine- I love it!
-
Loving mine as well! This is one sweet system and everyone I have shown it to guesses the price at almost double what I paid for it!
-
@redhidus, if it makes you feel any better, I'm in my room with a 1.5HP airconditioner, I can't hear the fan going at full speed 1m away. That might be my aircond being extremely loud though.
Anyhow, if the fan constantly run at that speed, most people probably wont notice it. However when it switches on and off, then yes it would be rather "audible" in the sense people would notice it.
Even with my system being a tad bit messed up (335m not working, powered by IGP), I'm still pleased with it. Though am definitely getting a anti-glare screen protector in the near future. I can see part of my reflection 70% of the time.. and it gets annoying when I'm reading a long article.. -
Your pleased even with a "messed up" 335.
Wonders will never cease. -
While the 335 is pretty much the core of the notebook, it won't be any good if the things that came along with the notebook be crap. Overally, I'm definitely pleased. Anyhow, it only took me a 5 min phone call to get a tech to drop by the next day to fix it up. Being in a country where customer support is known to be fubar, it's a blessing to be able to enjoy such service.
and heck, the messed up 335 isn't permanent. I hope.
Update : Got it fixed on the 31st, works flawlessly now. Spent an afternoon playing bioshock on OCed processor without any problems. -
Happy overall!
I purchased this as a replacement for my ASUS 1000HE. I needed more horsepower than the Atom could deliver, but I didn't want to compromise battery life too much. I was getting about 5-6 hours with the ASUS with very little "Better Battery Life" settings enabled. This little gadget seem to fit the replacement profile.
So far I haven't experienced the BSOD problem after OC'ng, but I have only had it a few days. We will see as time goes on. Fit and finish is superb with no gaps, creaks, or any other annoyances detected. Only design issue I have is with the glare of the glossy screen which I have somewhat remedied with the Lexerd Anti-Glare Film for the Acer Aspire ONE 11.6" (Amazon $29.95) It fits good, but this is not perfect solution.
It is workable in an overhead florescent environment (better than the glare), but I find the graininess annoying or even somewhat blurry when working within Cisco Fabric Manager or when watching a movie/gaming. I may investigate something on the removable side.
The black contrast issue will always be there in the LCDs, so I won't go any further with that.
The only operational issue that I have ran into is after starting up the m11x. I'm getting a pop-up message about the Alienware AlienFX Controller has stopped working. This started right after installing Mcafee Antivirus 8.7i. It doesn't seem to effect anything that I can see. All the zones are still working as configured. I'll look into this when I get some time.
As it stands, it's a keeper and I recommend it highly against anemic netbooks with the Atom procs. -
I am VERY happy.
I am a 36 year old man; that has literally been playing video games since Pong (which I played on a giant wooden console television!).
Now I can play Dead Space and Mass Effect, on the bus.
I think the M11x is a great step forward in the evolution of video games.
I bought 2. One for me and one for my girlfriend. They were both in perfect shape, build-wise. No screen issues, no fan issues. It overclocked without any issues. Its played anything I have thrown at it so far. I love it!
I figure, I will use it pretty exclusively for a year. Then next year, when every other PC manufacturer has figured out what a brilliant idea this was. I will have some options to choose from, in a similar form factor.
...although, with as happy as I am with my M11x. Alienware may very well have me hooked. -
Clocked up 50hrs on Steam in just over one week with the OC'd proc, zero BSODs. Build quality is in a league of its own and is by far the best looking laptop i've ever owned
10/10
