We wish to extend our apologies for this inconvenience and subsequent delay to your order.

Bo@LynboTech Company Representative
its a standard note, I got one about 2 weeks ago just the same
-
And why Alienware doesn't say officially what the problem????
-
K-nabeesse they say that they are out of stock and I think it's the truth.
-
We already have a UK thread for complaining and info, we might get lost if we start making many
.
-
Just got the same e-mail from them
-
Im sure everyone else is getting sick of waiting, as i sure am.
-
Haven't got the e-mail and I've ordered at the beginning of March.
-
-
i dont know whats goin on at all -
Hehehe,
I almost pity the guys who are working at AW at customer support. They must be getting like hundereds of e-mails every day inquiring about the order-status.
AW mishandled this whole order thing really badly. Hopefully they will learn from it in the future.

today they send me this e-mail>>>
Dear Alienware Customer,
Thank you for contacting Alienware
Our Billing Department unfortunately couldn’t bill your Credit Card yet. In order to bill your Card we would need.
A copy of your credit card statement with your credit card numbers and shipping address on it (you can also block out all transactions on the statement). PLEASE SIGN YOUR DOCUMENT.
Alternatively, if you cannot provide a copy of your Credit Card statement, you can supply a utility bill registered in your name at the address registered to the credit card and copy of your CC (front and back)-we need to see the last 4 digits on front of your card, 3 last digits on back of your card, expiry date, signature and your name. You should block out all other information.
The document copy can be done with a scanner or a digital camera. If you send your documents by email, the size must not exceed 1MB.
You can supply this information directly to our billing company email at [email protected], or you can fax directly + 353 9064 56528. Please be sure to include your order number on the fax or as the title of your email so that we can identify this for your order.
The reason we need this document is to perform an AVS check (a name and address check on the card) which is necessary to ensure that the card holder is aware of the transaction and that their card is not being used fraudulently. By checking the address this enables us to ensure the purchase is being shipped to the address the credit card is registered to.
Alternatively, if you feel uncomfortable with this verification process, you may also consider our option of wire transfer, which is a straight bank transfer from your bank to ours. If this is something you would prefer, please let us know and we can forward you our bank details to process.
Please do not hesitate to contact Alienware on 0800 279 9751 if you have any questions or concerns. Our office hours are from 8am to 8pm ( GMT ) on weekdays and from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays.
P.s. 1.Does anyone has got e-mail like my?Is it a normal process with every order?
P.s. 2.I went to the bank for ma credit card statement but I couldn't get beacuse money are still on my acount. -
It is a usual email, I got that too in february. What I did is send them a scanned copy of the credit card I used (cut out the numbers except last 4) and also scan my last letter from the bank the one from January (in my case). They just need to see that the credit card is yours and the address is the good one so any bank statement from last months is enough you don't need to pass by your bank to get it. If you have doubts call them up, thats what I did and they explained me what to scan and where to send it. They are very helpful when it comes to getting payed
.

thanks ioaniro for info,
I think that I'll choose second option>>>
"Alternatively, if you cannot provide a copy of your Credit Card statement, you can supply a utility bill registered in your name at the address registered to the credit card and copy of your CC (front and back)-we need to see the last 4 digits on front of your card, 3 last digits on back of your card, expiry date, signature and your name. You should block out all other information."
But what is that "CC"?Is it a credit card? -
-
OK, I have one more question...
what happend if I won't sent them this details? Will they cancel the order and give me back money? If they will how long it will take time?
I'm asking becouse I ordered m15x on thuesday and now on the alienware website the same notebook with the same component I can buy over 50£ cheaper
Can I cancel ma order now? -
They didn't take any money so you can cancel away. In fact they need these documents to take money from you (actually to verify you are the owner of the card and unless you can prove it they wont take money). But better yet, call them up and tell them to adjust the price on your order to the new price and while on the phone mail them the stuff
.
-
This alienware website is crazy.Yeastuarday I checked all my configuration and the price was 1,753,10£,but when I did this again price was cheaper 1680£.I check all components and every time all configuration was the same.I wonted to sent them e-mail to adjust the prise but when I checked price 5 minutes ago and price has been changed,it is highest now.

hi everyone, this is my first post so let me off lightly. basically , i ordered my m15x on the 22nd of feb.well, thats when i got the confirmation. since this date, my order has sat in pre-production (phase 4) after it being there for 2 weeks, i rang them up to be told that the chasis was out of stock. this is fair enough. but after reading these forums, im just a little concerned that rather than being out of stock, they have delayed the order because there faulty? my order has been delayed by at least 2 weeks due to this, and ive been told the chasis will be in on 2nd of april. just looking for a little reassurance i guess that the laptop will be worth the wait. ive put my specs below.

Welcome to the forums
. First of all, if you have the nerves, I would say you should wait until beginning of April. AW says they will have all the parts by then and the assembling will start. All the major problems like downclocking and heating seem to be fixed by the patch.
Secound, for your order I would :
drop the Turbo Cache Memory: Intel Turbo Cache Memory 1GB. I've read in the internet that this doesn't help and it actually slows your system down.
maybe increase the warranty.
maybe decrease to 2gb ram if you want to safe some money and buy those rams cheaper from other company. -
thanks impressive. your the second person to say to lose the turbo cache. now, im not saying what your saying isnt true. i guess i just think that a company such as AW wouldnt put something in that doesnt have any benefit? maybe im being naive, i dont know. i dont want to sound pompous or anything, but i had the money become available to get pretty much the best i could(except extreme processor, not sure how much difference it would be to next step down, and full 1080p screen, difference negligible on a small screen) so just went for the spec i posted above. i agree, i shouldve done a longer warranty, and will prob extend in the next week or so. as for the ram, ive read on a few sites that vista(32bit atleast) only recognises upto 3 gb anyway, but thought maybe somewhere down the line, microsoft might up it to 4, and while i have the money, why not use it?im glad to hear all the teething problems seem to be sorted, and hope when i recieve my m15x, it will come with all(if not most)problems sorted!

http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/intel/showdoc.aspx?i=2985&p=4
thats the benchmarks they did with a system that has turbo memory. it will show u that the turbo memory will slow your computer down. -
yeah, seems you have a fair point. any ideas on if its easily removeable for me to do, got reasonable experience with computers, or would it void the warranty? im not gonna be playing many games on it really, got a ps3 for that. gonna be using for audio creation mainly., so dont know if ill notice the difference. has anyone had any updates from AW about getting the chassis back in? having to wait another three weeks is gonna be a bit annoying as i ordered mine a month ago already.

Hi guys
another newbie to the forum from the uk
great bit of reading on this thread and id wished id found this forum before i ordered my m15x
heres my story so far...
firstly i was turned down by alienware finance to buy this laptop even though ive never been overdrawn in my life and never made a late payment once. after doing a credit check on myself i could'nt see where the problem was but for some reason they just didnt want to know.
i then decided to pay using my debit card thinking there would be no problem as the money was in my account.wrong!
i then receive an email like a few of you above asking for a copy of my card details and proof of address. (correct me if im wrong but isnt it a risk sending this by email, even though most of the details were blanked out).
anyway after that i received the email i was waiting for with the all clear and the money was taken from my account on 7th March.
my machine has now been on phase 4 (pre production) for the last 12 days.
so it looks like im another one at the end of the Q.
heres my spec.

I wont be using my laptop for any sort of gaming. the main use will be general use on internet, digital video editing from digital video camera and also using it as a backup for my mobile discos using virtual dj software.
reading the above,do you think i should get rid of the turbo cache memory before they start building it or wont it make much difference to me as im not using it to play games.
sorry to go on so much but i have 2 final questions.
ive chosen for the hard drive Single Drive Configuration - 200GB 7200 RPM SATA
but have the option to change to Single Drive Configuration - 320GB 5400 RPM SATA for £25 extra.
would the 7200rpm be much faster load up speed than the 5400rpm or would it be better for me to get the 120gb extra space
and secondly the soundcard.
ive chosen External Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card
the other option would be Intel® High-Definition Audio (24-bit, 192Khz) with surround sound which is £50 cheaper.
would the external soundcard make that much difference using it through my 1000watt disco equipment for gigs.
thanks for your time and i look forward to becoming part of this great forum
regards

@MrDJ
if you wont be gaming then i dont recommend getting the 8800m gtx and you can save your self a couple hundred dollars. -
thanks for the reply exiled.
the 8800 gtx comes as standard and doesnt give you an option to change when ordering.
cheers
jim -
@MrDJ
I guess you could call AW and ask them to change your video-card to a 8700M GT. If you are not gaming there is no point in spending all that money on this expensive part.
I would also opt for the bigger harddrive as the 7200rpm drive doesen`t help you very much.
And as you are a DJ I would definitely recommend the additional Audio card (creative Xi-Fi). You`ll get a bigger variaty of plugs and a better sound-quality.
Have fun with your new nb. But don`t expect it to be at your place before the end of april...AW Europe has some weired production probs...
Paendrag -
thanks Paendrag for the info.
ill give AW a call and see if i can change a few bits.
i might keep the 8800gtx just in case i take up gaming in the future.
end of april
Nooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Is this end of April shipping date for everyone or for those who ordered in March?
-
My guess is (I might be mistaken) end of April. AW gets its missing parts for the m15x sometime in the first week in April. From there it will take aprox 10 days to assamble and test the units. Than another few days of shipping and voila: Its in your hands by end of April...
As far as I know this is true for all m15x`s ordered in Europe, as I haven`t heared from anybody in the web who received his m15x yet.
Paendrag -
Are you sure? When I called on Thursday the guy said last week of March or 1st week of April. They were closed today for Easter (lazy turds!!) so Im calling them tomorrow and if they say end of April, I will hurt them. I already cancelled and then reordered in a moment of weakness but if its going to be end of April then Im cancelling for sure.
-
Well, since I canceled ass well I might not be up to date on the issue, but the last thing I heard was that AW gets a new supply of m15x chassis at the beginning of April. After they got their stock resupplied they still need to build the thing! According to AW this takes aprox. ten days. And then you you have to wait for the shippment...
Paendrag
P.S> I don`t want to badmounth AW here. You might be lucky and AW is working double time to build the m15x. Maybe you`ll hold it in your hands by next week... -
hmmm, interesting phone call to AW
firstly my delivery date is still set for 4th April on the AW database so that is 11 days time (i am still on phase 4).
i asked when the production of the m15x would re comence but the CS agent couldnt answer that.
if people are still waiting for deliveries that were ordered in february then i think ive got no chance of seeing my new laptop before mid may. -
My weekly post lol, ordered 5th February still phase 4. I'll call this week to see whats the deadline this time.
-
im heading off to spain on the 19th of april, i must have my laptop before then, if not i will be canceling......
-
-
I just got off the phone from AW. The guy told me they would definately be getting the shipment of chasiss by the end of This week
It will be interesting to see if they can eventually keep to something!! Mine was ordered on the 26th of Feb with a delivery date for tomorrow.....not going to happen
.....the guy told me, when the parts come..... it would take around five days to build and test.....shipment sometime in the second week of April. I like many, need mine by a certain date (12th). Problem is, god only knows how many other people who ordered before me are still waiting!!!...this could take forever
. Hope this is useful!
-
Well, the CS you talked to was optimistic
. But if they get the parts this week, then assembling starts next week, mid April seems to be the date to getting it. But again ofc it won't happen, AW will think of something to stop us from getting our laptops
.
The thing I'm worried about that when they get all the parts they will need to build LOTS of computers cause many people have ordered but none of them have received the system. So there might be further delays... -
i spoke to AW CS this morning also, i spoke to a woman. she also told me that they should, i emphasise SHOULD BE GETTING THE CHASIS IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS WEEK, so that 2moro or thursday to me yeah? so i said, "by friday your website should say phase 5 for me as i ordered it over a month ago yeah?" to which she replied, yes, all being well. if it isnt you will be emailed as to why. so, im gonna be optimistic and takes the positives rather than negatives from that call. fingers crossed
-
can't wait till friday!!! lol phase 5 is like shipped to us now
-
as long as the parts DO come in our next worry will be that the production line doesnt start cutting corners to get as many machines out as soon as possible because that is when other problems will be found.
-
I think that some of you could be delay because there are many people like me who ordered around 4-6 Feb still in phase 4. Anyway, gook luck to all of us and no more delay.
-
When did AW start taking UK orders ? was i late... ordering on the 26th of feb ?
-
-
I ordered on 5th March. I was told over the phone today that mine would be assembled by the end of this week and shipped to me by end of next week. We'll see ...
So, I'm assuming that all the UK orders will ship with the latest BIOS updates etc. What about the chassis and touch control issues - any idea if they've been fixed? -
-
There telling me now, they have 600 orders to forfill but only enough to build 300 units
And with my Product change, ermmmm Windows Vista Ultimate (might add another week to my delivery date), are they beening serious, or just smoking crack ? -
-
ARGH and I need it by first week of May when I'm going to a conference!!
REALLY REALLY pissed off!
