Alienware M15x Uk Orders

Dude, you're sure? Ok if they say they will get the parts this week, I'll call them on monday and ask then will my system be there. I have a slight hope that mine will be built faster since I ordered as a company.

I was also told that the chassis was coming in at the end of this week so assembly would begin next week and would take 4-5 days so I should see it in the second week of April. If the 600 orders, 300 units thing is true, I still have a decent chance since I ordered on the 11th of Feb. But I also cancelled and reodered so I might have to wait even more. Keeping my fingers crossed. My stupid friends laugh at me because I've been telling them that Im getting an Alienware laptop since the past 2 months and it still hasnt arrived.

 

aimed at btgman. when exactly did you speak to them? i spoke to them at 9.30 this morning, so i assume that if your comment is true, they mustve recieved the chasis' today? and if so, if you should be getting yours next week, then anyone ordering before you should get theirs too, meaning me!! dont want to not believe, but is just a different story youve been told to what ive been told. also, maybe me not taking peoples advice and not changing to get rid of the turbo cache might have been the right choice if crystak's change added a week onto his!!!

 

excuse the excitement but ive just jumped up a stage to stage 5

so if its true what the CS geezer said to me today then i should be getting mine by the 4th April

but the sums just dont add up. if theres 600 and only 300 cases and i only ordered mine 3 weeks ago then everyone that ordered in february should get theres first.

MrDJ i would phone up and double check that, as i remember someone else stating that they where moved onto phase 5, and it was alot of bull****

 

the money was actually taken out on the 7th march so i think i ordered the week before.
ohh hang on. i orderedat the end of february but was turned down by their finance department so i cancelled. 3 days later i re ordered and paid cash and that wasnt taken out until the 7th.

i wonder if me saying i would get on a plane to the states and go and kick some butts might of done the trick or was it cos my old man owns aw, im not sure now but guess what

Yea, I remember 2 phase 5 weeks ago, no computer still if I am not mistaken. Lets hope this time this is it .

 

There is no way we are getting our m15x before the start of Feb guys, i orderd 27th or 26th of feb, money got giving 3 days later, Wire transfer

it has just been confirmed by edward on status update that production has re commenced on the m15x and from start of production it can take upto 5-10 days so he said hopefully i should receive it by the end of next week.

if this is the case, everyone that ordered in february should HOPEFULLY be happy bunnys by early next week.

At DS - I spoke to someone at about 2pm this afternoon. He was pretty adamant that mine would go into production by this Friday - but I'll believe that when I see it. He said mine had gone back to Phase 3 - because they had a back log of orders to complete for people who ordered before me - but even though mine was on hold it would still go into production by the end of the week. I'm not gonna hold out for it but lets hope things are gonna start moving soon and you guys who've been waiting since early Feb actually get yours soon.

as you said in a previous post that you ordered yours on the 5th march. but when did AW take the money from your account. that is the actual day you start counting from.

I paid on-line by credit card and the money came out of my account the next day - I checked. I didn't go into phase 2 until 3 days later though.

 

Ermmmmm if AW wants to play like this, and set me back afew weeks cos i upgraded to vista ultimate for aextra 70 quid when they allready had my 2,634 for my orgi order, i will go mental,

 

thats interesting. sounds like they were slowing every aspect down until they found the bios fix.

just been told by AW that vista ultimate wont be available until august now.

just wandering. has anyone else been moved from phase 4 into phase 5 live mrdj? i had put all this to the back of my mind for a week or two otherwise i wouldve been getting very annoyed, but now it seems something might be happening, im getting excited!! when did you last speak to them mrdj, dont their lines close at 8 for order status?

No ofence to Mr DJ but all the people that orderd early feb havnt said there in phase 5, and they Should and would be first in line, to be built ........

 

mine was ordered 5th of february, payment confirmation 9th february. Since 9th of february phase 4. I'll call tomorrow to check it up.

i spoke to them at 7pm this evening and yes the lines close at 8pm uk time.

No offence taken jcharnley and i totally agree with you on that. i even said to the CS person i spoke to that was he sure about my delivery (even tho he didnt give an exact date) as i said there were most probably hundreds of customers in front of me. he said they were trying to get all outstanding orders out.

im not sure how AW production lines work but could it be to do with the spec ive ordered. has anyone else above ordered exactly the same spec as me?

 

Hmm I don't want to be pessimistic but I might have a more plausible explanation. Your dead-line is not passed yet (since I see your order was confirmed 7th or 8th of March) and they might be giving you the standard work-around. I remember back in the begining of February me and others were told several times we're in production or starting (later today, tomorrow) until the estimated shipping date passed. After the deadline passed they switched to the ... we received a defective chasis stock and we sent them all back so... maybe next week etc. However in those days ) theynever jumped us in phase 5 if I remember well. If what I suspect is true my order goes to cancel the next day (even though they didn't do it to me yet lol). But is just a feeling since last week or so it happened the same, some guys that were not over the deadline went to phase 5 after some CS talks and never moved from there (as far as I know). Hmm... anyways tomorrow is my turn to talk to the CS, lets see what they say to this one. Too bad Alienware doesn't give a damn about the civilized world and only has contact with the US part of the forum .

PS just kidding about that last part btw (not about the AW sucks in Europe part).

I hope for you guys in Europe who are still waiting that AW will ship their units asap... And in my book they should give ALL of you guys who ordered back in FEB a small compansation for the trouble. (And I don`t mean a fri*** basecap!)

thanks for the info ioaniro, thats a very interesting read.
it will be interesting to see what phase i will be at on the shipping date which is the beginning of april. now they think im happy with what i was told yesterday by CS i suppose they may think i wont pester them again until the ship date. it could be one way to get around customers but lets hope not because if this is so then AW will have gone down big time in my estimations and hopefully scare a lot of new customers away.

so fingers crossed jcharnley that you will still get your lappy a few weeks before me.

Well, called AW and unfortunately all the replies were that the cases are still not there and that they are expecting them by the end of this week. The guy told me that so far they have no computers in production and that they should start by Friday-Monday the building process. So I'd say that for the euro phase 5 guys there is still some waiting time ahead but since the parts should be here this week it shouldn't change much (unless they don't get enough cases). Still I can't believe that they actually put ppl in phase 5 just to shut them up on the phone, that's making me think more and more about canceling this thing... Maybe someone else can call and see if they get the same answer (after asking your phase and production stuff mentioned that you saw on the net ppl that went in production etc and ask what's that about, just to check if we get the same reply).

So the only thing we can do now is waiting and hoping not to get any further delays.(^_^)

 

In any case if our fears come true it will be sad to see AW drop to these levels. Is too bad Alienware-steve or frank or whichever of the AW reps on the forum don't bother to read the EU topic, I'm sure what is happening in Europe is against the AW policies and would be considered awful strategy by the US AW. I mean phase 5 is:

which means that putting people on phase 5 when you don't have components is a clear LIE. Maybe this time we should really consider writing a common complain email and send it to feedback@alienware and if we get no satisfying answer follow the US example and send it to the major reviewer sites.

I remember two guys in EU who said that they jumed to phase 5 one or two week ago, but they still stay in this phase until now if i am not mistaken.

 

Yup... my order went to Phase 5 almost 3 weeks ago. I don't think it's should be on this phase when they don't even have any parts! This is outrageous!

 

If i was smart enough, and had good enough gammer, i would send a complaint to there 2 HQ's In the US and Ireland

I have sent them a long email of complain to the uk site. I'm pretty sure I will get no answer so I'd suggest waiting 1-2 more days and if this continues we should write to reviewer magazines and push their reaction. This company is a joke, they deserve to have a wake up call. Also, for everyone that still has the order for more than 1 month I'd suggest calling and asking about this issue, I'd like to see how the answers match or not depending on the guy that answer .

 

I have sent them an email about some guys here went to phase 5 while i and others who ordered early Feb still in phase 4. And here is their answer
"Thank you for keeping in touch with me.

In regard to your inquiry, please note that the estimated shipping date that we provide to our customers depends on the amount of orders that we have at that precise moment and also on the availability of the parts required to build the system.

Regarding your second inquiry, please note that the estimated delivery date to Alienware is the end of March or the beginning of April."

 

oh dear, im now very confused the plot thickens.

i received an email last night at 10.06pm stating:
Dear:

Your system is now in production.

it sounds like we are getting conflicting information now.

Well, it is the end of March, so maybe they have recieved the missing parts?

 

I hope this is true but i highly doubt it. Here is one sentence of an email I got some time ago:

" Also, we confirm you that once we get all the parts your system will be build in priority in our manufacture.

Please do not hesitate to contact Alienware on 0800 279 9751 if you have any questions or concerns. Our office hours are from 8am to 8pm (GMT) on weekdays and from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays. "

The priority thing is because they screwed up my order and the girl figured it out after 3 weeks. So I called them up today and they confirmed that my order is flagged as high priority and that they have no parts yet (i have the same specs as everyone else no super screen and no extreme proc) and they are expecting them in the end of the week. I asked specifically what is with the other orders that went to phase 5 and he was not very sure but he said that he can see that no production started (today around 12) on any system and that he guess that the phase 5 will wait for parts as the phase 4. Dind't want to insist since the guy was not very sure so I hope later today to speak to some supervisor and clear things out. The only thing the guy could tell me for sure is that the part missing is still the chasis so I doubt some production started without that .

Yeah, sounds like you're right. It's weird that only a few of us went to phase 5, while many others, including those that ordered in FEB are still pre-production. FFS ...

I'll be stuck in Phase 5 till first week of April when they get the missing chassis, no doubt.

 

I would prefere to be wrong and you guys to get your comps, then I'd have a very good reason to call them up and tell them few secret words my grand grand father taught me.

 

It really is getting ridiculous - and not even a decent explanation yet alone some token offer of compensation.

You need to give them a call and see what is wrong. My guess is you missed or they forgot to send you the email asking for a copy of some papers and the credit card.

Hey guys, I am also in Phase 5 as of today !! I ordered on the 11th of Feb and the payment was received on the 15th (wire transfer). I was also told that the cases would be coming in on Friday so I really don't know whats going on at AW UK but it seems a little fishy. Then again as long as I get a well assembled m15x soon, I dont really care that much. I have been waiting so long that a few days here and there dont really matter that much.

I havent received a confirmation email though
More configuration options are now available for the m15x including graphics cards and processors.
A configuration similar to what I ordered is almost £100 more.

@ Mr DJ : You might want to change to a lower graphics card like the 8700GT and sove some cash.
