Alienware M15x Uk Orders

YAY I get mine today.

 

hi nofate, yup service pack 1 is installed on mine. Generailly mine is running very nicely, just the damn BD drive tray sticking issue.

Got mine today, lvoe it all, except the rather flimsy screen.
Can't seem to get 320 GB HDD smartbay drive in, seems to need a ridiculous amount of force...not gonna try and get it in soon, don't wanna spoil it lol.

without tray (slot-in) like in car radio.No tray, less problems AW should bulid laptop with this DVD or BD drive

 

Congrats to all you guys who got your m15xs today. I however am PISSED OFF !! Ive been in Phase 6 for 4 days now. I think 4 days is way too long to diagnose and fix any computer problem. Those guys are slacking or they are trying to buy time while waiting for a missing component. This really sucks. Anyway if it does ship out tomorrow, does DHL work on weekends?

 

i havn't read the lastest posts , i will do when i get try time, About the m15x its great, im only have only issue at the moment...
Under performing with games, with ut3 im getting around 15 to 20fps.
Im downloadin 3dmark now, i should be pushing 10k wont i with my system ?

 

you should be getting over 80fps with that spec

I have a higher res screen 1920x1200 GF8800M gtx, 4gig ram and only a 2.5ghz processor T9300 and I get over 70fps at full settings!!!

you need to check for the downclocking issue.

and before anyone says, yes I have a clevo, but its spec is not a million miles away.

 

Gratz everyone who got their systems . Mine is still being delivered.

But they havn't updated my tracking since 9th April and I don't really understand where my systems is now from the info given. Anyone could help me?

I'd say dublin. I called them up in the beginning when I had the same status as you and it was in Dublin waiting to be loaded to leave. If you chose normal delivery they don't deliver on weekends so I'd advice you to call dhl and see what they say. If it arrives Saturday you can still pick it up yourself fro the dhl depot.

My Graphic Card is fooked..
there sending anew one out , but they put acharge on yr card incase u dont send the broking one back

Jason, if it would be possible for you to give a bit more of details regarding your problem, it would be great! I'm waiting to buy the M15x, living in the UK and I'm hoping they will solve the problems with the GPU.

 

Its simple really mate, I got yesterday, Installed UT3 it played crappy 10 to 20fps
phoned support(really helpfully) done some tests, and they told me my GPU is defective
So there sending out a replacement, that i need to install, with these insturtsion

Sad to hear that and I really hope you will get your problem fixed... After such a long wait and so much money spent, I'm sure it's quite frustrating!
And do they still make you pay a "deposit" for the GPU? Hope they will at least pay for all shipping...

microsoft have an xp sp2 patch anyway

funnily enough I have just been discussing this problem with someone who just built a desktop.

 

Agreed NoFate, would solve the issue im having, the drive tray still sticks, you hear the ding of the release mechanism but have to get your finger nail under the tray to get it out... grrr... will be emailing AW on Monday.

on 3 april I moved to phase 4, I checked today my status order and I go back to phase 3 What the fu...it's a normal process?

 

in other words they have either found a fault (like mine) or are waiting on back order parts (like mine).

It happened to me and then a few hours later moved to phase 5.

What I don't get though is why you've only been in phase 4 for 2 weeks whereas I've been in that phase for over a month .

 

right,i'll wait some time and see what will happen

It can't comes as a surprise that theese parts are missing. I feel like there are stalling me and that they shouldnt have promised me that i would be shipped 1st of may when they know they're out of stock. So i am amazed if a assembly guy are assembling a laptop , walks over to the shelf and discovers that the shelf is empty. Please dont sell and draft peoples money if you cant provide the product within the promised time. Now i wouldnt be mad if its said from the start that they have a stock problem and that i should expect a long delay. Its the stalling and not opfront and honesty. Cant beliefe that i need to wait 2/3 month for a laptop, unless i was aware of it Defently not pleased with Alienware and they way of doing bussiness.

Sad customer waiting for what is suposed to be a great and neat laptop. So wont recommend anyone to AW...............

 

woohoo ... I think my m15x arrives today! DHL Tracking says its in a city 100km away from my destination so I expect it will arrive about noon! Yeahh..
I will check it for the known errors and inform you about all problem-related facts later on then!

i got that last mail as well, it's appalling that we have to wait THREE WEEKS for a darn webcam. i'm gonna call AW today and ask what's going on. i've already had to wait 11 days for the darn screen and now this?

 

UPDATE: looks like we're in luck mate. that part is actually the case, but a very informative young lady told me that they'd get a new shipment of cases end of this week or begin of next week. so we should be seeing our notebooks going into production next week.

 

Hello everybody, Im new here, I would like to let you know I got the same email from aw as whizzo, the thing is that I called cs and the said to me it was a mistake and the part they were waiting to build my system is the motherboard that actually they got it since yesterday. So I dont know what to believe... they also said that my laptop must be ready for shipment at the end of week. by the way wizzo, the time of my phases are the same as yours.

 

Just a quick question...
Taking into consideration I ordered today (6th May) and I got an ETA for the 19th-20th May... WHen should I expect to receive my laptop? Before June? Anyone has an idea how fast are orders being processed now?

 

hmm, what to believe after whizzo and carlcont's statements I sure hoping that it is getting put together next week.

Otherwise they should rename theyre company from AlienWare to AlienWhere?

Just checked the order status page and i am now in phase 6 (This stage includes the installation of the operating system, drivers and any applications that are specific to the system you ordered.)

Even though the last mail from AW stated that it first would be build from the 26th. So whizzo, yours should also been processed

sry 2 hear that yours havent moved in phases. I am now moved backwards, back to phase 5? this happened once before (from 5 to 4), then some hours later back to 5, so wierd.......

 

I'm in phase 4 since yesterday evening... I ordered it on the 6th May and I'm living in London.
I guess I'll stay in this phase for a long time.
Oh well... patience is a nice virtue... but it's hard to be waiting for it.

 

yeah a guy from a german forum had that same thing happen to him today. strange... i just hope mine hits the next phase (whatever it may) soon, hopefully this week.

btw, just saw something strange. I paid through a wire transfer and requested them to send me an invoice which i could foward to my bank. found something funny in there. dont know how relevant it is They charge 20 Eur for thanking me?

 

The same happened to me labrat666, I was today in phase 6 and then back to 5, its quite weird, this company is really funny, I called them again and they said to call on friday in order to give me an exact time for de shipment

was in phase 1 from friday till tusday when to phase 2-3 on tusday evening then when to phase 4 on wednesday then when to phase 5 on wednesday night stayed in phase 5 untill today then when to phase 9 friday evening

i'm getting 1920x1200 screen, x9000 processor 8800 gtx card 120 hard drive, 2g of ram

 

And in the UK? That's amazing... Maybe I will receive my computer next week! Let's be optimistic... I've hear so many horror stories that it's hard to though.

 

Just checked AW UK's website... The 1400X900 LCD is out of stock and they are only going to receive it in 28 days. Expected shipping date for new systems is the 28th June. This really baffles me... How does it come to this?
Oh well, if I don't receive my laptop till then, at least I can wait for the new clevo with the 8800GTX and buy that instead.

 

Ok... just climbed up to phase 5. That has to be good news (or not...).
There's a very well trained assembly technician, trained to AW's standards, putting the laptop together. I'm... afraid!!!! I can only imagine a butcher with a big carving knife and my precious future laptop.

 

So are the 1440*900 screens in stock now?i heard that the new stock was coming in around 26th may. is that true mate?

Cos when i placed my order, i had an ESD of 23rd May, Now its gone forward to 23rd June

 

Hi Koning. That's what I'm afraid of... I placed the order on the 6th of May and I had and ESD of 19th May. Now, on AW website, they have the 1440x900 out of stock and a ESD for the 23rd June. I haven't called or emailed to find out what's true and when are they expecting to receive the LCDs.

So I don't know what to think... Maybe we were lucky and our orders will still be covered with whatever they had left, or maybe we will all have to wait for the LCDs. It's more than a revisited issue, that AW's phases are just a bit of a BS and do not really mean much. So the fact that mine is in production doesn't mean much.

We will see...
Whizo and the others that are waiting for it... any news?
