    check the phase page every 5 seconds until it's at phase 9 and then keep checking until the fedex number is up.

    yo - i wanna know from all the guys who have ordered this computer with "single drive configuration" if it comes with 2 harddrive bays (1 being empty) or just 1

    i'm comparing this computer to a gateway 7801u on newegg and wanna know which 1 is a smarter buy in terms of space

    The hard drive cages of the Alienware m9700, m9750, and m17 are built into the chassis. They are removable, but a sliver of plastic from the top half of the laptop and the bottom are attached to them.

    My point being, TWO hard drive cages come with the m17. Otherwise there would be a nice big gaping hole on the bottom of the laptop and the top left side.

    Its quite nice that it includes a hard drive cage. Most laptops dont come with the extra cage. You normally need to request it, order it separately, or track one down (Like I need to for my **** HP HDX).

    I would like to also add the the two hard drive cages that the Arima 840-DI (Alienware m17, OCZ Whitebook) uses are of very high quality. They are surely going to keep your HDD's secured. they feel like they could be removed in and out a million times and still work perfectly fine.

    Infact, thats how the overall chassis feels.

    The Arima 830-DA (m9700). 835-DI (m9750), and 840-DI (m17) are all modified versions of the same basic chassis, and as a whole they are all VERY VERY well made.

    You'll all be very impressed!
    Now I wait for a second wave of Mobile Quad cores, cheap 8gb's ram, and dual Ati 4870's before I order my m17.
